jackophant Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 you can use mat_postprocess_enable 0 to get rid of that vignette on screenshots.I find the combination of flowers and snow a little hard to believe. I would also soften the grey of your smoke and make it more wispy. In the screenshots it looks very dense, like a thick grey bush sitting on top of the chimneys.Seeing as the map doesn't take part during a blizzard and looks far from anywhere affected by a blizzard, could I suggest a different name for the map? Perhaps something like frostbite, snowblind, winter, snowdrift or frigid? Quote
UnknownPredator Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 My old map was named Blizzard, I never published it though lol. I'm just going to give feedback on the visuals but I think that what jackophant said was right. Try adding some more detail to your buildings, and adding decals such as stains and dirt to areas. The map right now looks very boring because every building look the same, try adding some variation in the building size and looks. Lastly, I don't know if this is just me, but I think that you could brighten your map a little bit more. jackophant 1 Quote
Vaya Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) the roofs look really weird for some reason...too steep? not sure..you can mask these with more snow displacements and variation. I suggest de_whiteout as a new name EDIT - that's been used by another map in the contest. whoops! Edited July 2, 2015 by Vaya Quote
ScottehBoeh Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I think this is a really nice map so far. It's good to see other snow-based maps. I don't see many of them any more Quote
