blackdog Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 No topic? Shame!I'm baffled the Hitman series is rebooted again, but I don't care much, very curious and intrigued to see what this is gonna offer... as the slogan teases the experience will be very vast (but I'm watching the stage demo and from the words of the IO employee I understand it's still based around missions, just a lot is gonna get added overtime. A big emphasis on multiplayer (leaderboards): sounds like they merged what I was expecting from the Sniper Challenge to a full game, even with hits available in the form of 48h events and only one shot *ahem* attempt at the target this will definitely keep the fans hooked. Unfortunately I won't have so much time to spend on it and be so anal... pity as for Sniper Challenge I did manage to get among the top ranking in Italy for a while.Enough talking Trailer: Interview: El Moroes, Dark, Vorontsov and 1 other 4 Quote
FeverReaver Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Looks pretty sick. It'll be especially nice to know that it seems to be moving away from the very linear approach that you had in most missions in Absolution. Vorontsov 1 Quote
Dark Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Hitman back to its roots, cant wait! Looks sick! Quote
Lizard Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Good to see Io Interactive making some old-schol Hitman. I can't wait to see more stuff from them. It's looking great already. Quote
Pampers Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Haven't they said they've been going back to the roots for the last 4 hitman games now? blackdog, Corwin and Buddy 3 Quote
FeverReaver Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Haven't they said they've been going back to the roots for the last 4 hitman games now? There are only five games in the main series. They've been saying that this is just going to go back to the gameplay that Codename 47, Silent Assassin, Contracts, and Blood Money had but Absolution didn't. Absolution just took a huge turn because they did the usual mistake most AAA devs make of "broadening the appeal" and making the game easy and linear as shit. Quote
Thrik Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 It looks good, I really hope they can nail it. Doing the assassination side-missions in MGS5 has really given me a taste for this kind of thing, but you have to get the systems and AI just right or stealthy games feel like the worst thing ever. Mazy Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 Worked on this a long while back, looks good, me and a couple of others were early out and championing a fashion show level so it's cool to see it there.Still very interested in seeing how the entire release plan will work out. Paying $60 upfront and then not getting a full game straight away isn't necessarily a bad thing, but then they better be able to dish out fresh content in a fairly steady pace, I hope IO can pull it off. blackdog Posted June 19, 2015 Author Report Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) Haven't thought about it, I thought that they would give the amount of content of a normal AAA game, and then what would be a DLC "in the package".Good to hear that the game had such a long inception… it actually seems that they turned what I was expecting from Sniper Challenge into a full game. Partly sounds great, but really if you guys at the time did come out with additional content, I would have bought it. Edited June 19, 2015 by blackdog Quote
