Sjonsson Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 While all of you (seems like it) are drooling over all these AAA-titles, I sit in my corners and dream about running from lemmings! It might be because of my patriotism (didn't know I had any) and love for fuzzy animals.Anyone else who got blown away by this?So far Unravel is the game that hooked me the most. That and Cuphead. Zarsky, AtsEst, El Moroes and 3 others 6 Quote

Sjonsson Posted June 16, 2015 Author Report Posted June 16, 2015 I'm gonna buy this for me and for the mrs... wait I dun' have one anymore! D:Yeah I'd let Cuphead wreck my wallet any day. Quote
Sprony Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Agreed that both look very promising. Especially Cuphead. I got instant flashbacks to all those Betty Boop, Disney and Popeye reruns I watched growing up! Quote
blackdog Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Dat graphics!!!I love this kind of games, Limbo gave really new life to the 2D platform-adventures, EA would have never put money in something like this before.I take is gonna be multiplaftorm being EA, so I'm likely to get it Sjonsson 1 Quote

Sjonsson Posted June 18, 2015 Author Report Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) Agreed that both look very promising. Especially Cuphead. I got instant flashbacks to all those Betty Boop, Disney and Popeye reruns I watched growing up!Yeah I can't decide on which of them I like the most. They're so different. I got some flashbacks too, actually I am old enough to have seen the hand-animated stuff like Disney, Asterix & Obelix and more. This really triggered me too.Dat graphics!!!I love this kind of games, Limbo gave really new life to the 2D platform-adventures, EA would have never put money in something like this before.I take is gonna be multiplaftorm being EA, so I'm likely to get it I have to say, for long I've been a bit negative towards indie platformers. Most of them go like "It's like Limbo, but with colors and the time-mechanics from braid!" or something like that. Those games turn me off but this is different, mostly because of the artstyle and the lemming for me but well.. there's something special to it!Yes I totally see this as a game that should be played alone on your console without anyone being able to interrupt you. Get into tha' mood! Looks neat, I can't wait for the touching ending where you run out of yarn and die I know, I heard someone say it's referring to some old novel but I don't care. Cute characterg dying always gets me, even though it's super cliché! Edited June 18, 2015 by Sjonsson blackdog 1 Quote
blackdog Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 I would like to understand if the thread running out is scripted -you die when story tells you- or if is part of the mechanic and that's the/one way you die during a session.Reminds me of the theme of The Global Game Jam I participated, "extinction", and it was suggested to have games that simply limit the time you can play.Agreed that too many platformers are borrowing the 2-3 mechanics that got a foothold in this generation (time, gravity, shadows) Quote
