I don't know how people can be so excited for a remake. Not having ever been part of a development myself, this just seems like a lazy/safe option... I would much rather see a new game, sequel or otherwise.

I would be so pissed if after all this time Valve were to unveil a new game and it's a fucking remake of HL1 as they are about the same age. Don't get me wrong, I loved the shit out of HL1, but a remake...

​Many Final Fantasy games were released between today and FF7, they learned a lot. FF7 is a classic but it doesn't necessarily hold up today, a facelift and gameplay tweaks this could be huge.
I'm not too much of a turn based games fan, but if this is well done, I might pick it up. (Never finished FF7 back in the day)

FF7 is the most popular FF in the world (after the 6 maybe ?) and have a wonderfull world and story, some kickass characters and a large way to specialize them.  For me it's the first and the best I've played. I loved FF9 and quite enjoyed FF8 but gameplay wise they were a lot less good. All FF after that are films/strange stuff.

 

there is a reason why Square made movies and spin off about this game. because it's a kickass one.

 

But if i'm hyped about this news, i'm afraid they will do something else like a FF10/13 shitty corridor game.
