Bastion Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 In spite of the real silly mistakes (holding the gun backwards, dear god how) I find the facial animations kind of adorable when they really try to make them work, although it does completely destroy all of the more serious scenes between characters. I don't know, I kind of want to buy this game more now. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted March 17, 2017 Report Posted March 17, 2017 I think they've put more work in to improve the rendering quality from BF4's Frostbite... but it's really hard to tell. Especially for an area you'd expect a Bioware game to get the most attention, people. Skin lighting, especially for the darker skinned characters, looks pretty bad in that video. Quote
blackdog Posted March 18, 2017 Report Posted March 18, 2017 It's too fucking big lol, I am for the first time a bit interested in the franchise but who has the time to play something like this when Batman AK took me 70h tofibish the main quest (and playing some challenges). Anyway in a news video they were saying there are 1200 talking characters, more than… I think ME 2&3 combined. Quote
spa Posted March 18, 2017 Report Posted March 18, 2017 Watched some of the Giant Bomb stream and it really gave off the impression that this is done by Biowares B-team and just feels uninspired and under cooked. Even the main guy seems like a boring boyscout compared to Shepard. Writing was cringy and the faces ofc terrible but even the environments looked bland and by-the-numbers. Conceptually i like that they are going more open world with this franchise but it doesnt feel like Bioware/EA committed to this project the way the IP deserves. Im curious about the reception of the actual game but I dont have high hopes.. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted March 18, 2017 Report Posted March 18, 2017 Mhh yea i was mildly interested in this but just in time i feel off put again by Bioware. I loved the first ME and DA but completely lost interest when the sequels came out. Quote
cashed Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 I like the MP. Still going through the beginning of the SP. Not thrilled they scrapped the squad abilities control Quote
grapen Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 (edited) I've never played Mass Effect or discussed it with anyone, so I have to ask. Based on that video, are humans in this universe not supposed to look like us due to evolution, or are the characters just made incredibly unattractive (subjective, sure)? Not critiquing, just finding it interesting. Edited March 23, 2017 by grapen Vaya 1 Quote

The original mass effect is set in the year 2183, from what i gather, Andromeda is obviously in the future but not enough that it would change human physique. I totally recommend you play ME1 and 2 tho, they're some of the best sci-fi I've ever seen. 2d-chris and grapen 2 Quote
2d-chris Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 My gowd, I've literally played ME1 12 or 13 times ....safe to say I like it, a lot ... -HP-, AlexM, Vaya and 1 other 4 Quote

Zelda will probably take me a year to finish. -HP- 1 Quote
Vaya Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 ME1-3 was amazing to play through with one character. The ending was a nasty rushed mess though. -HP- 1 Quote
Pampers Posted April 5, 2017 Report Posted April 5, 2017 Patch time! https://www.masseffect.com/news/the-journey-ahead?sf53509845=1 Think I will wait a few months before booting this, did the same with ME3 and no problems with the ending tbh Quote
