Religion isnt a book that tries to explain evrything.

Uh... do you even read the books you profess to know about? They certainly do attempt to explain everything. From the birth of the universe to what blends of cloth are sinful in the eyes of the gods. Religion is a pre-science, naive way of understanding and explaining the world. It's without any real merit other than having some good stories.

If i have learned one thing from experiments with psychedelic drugs then this is that science trys to explain only the surface of that what we call reality :D

And there is so much more under this surface WOOOOAHHHHHH :-D:o:shock::???::oops::cry::banjo::banjo::idea:

Like breathing walls and imaginary ants on your skin. Psychadelic drugs are about as deep as a kiddy pool. Put down the pipe.

LOL you dont know what you talk about. There is no experience in the world deeper then a psychedelic trip. What do you think why so many people become mad after tripping? If it was so easy to say "hey that was all just a stupid film in my brain, nothing real, nothing i have to think about" they would do it...

And nobody believes everything he sees on a trip, if you belive this. Its more that it makes you think about how real the whole thing including our normal reality is when it is so easy to change it dramaticaly with just a few micrograms of a substance in the brain.

For example i had the experience that there is no materialistic world outside, everything is empty or some kind of pure energy, nothing that could be touched in real. Thats hard to understand for people without such an experience but modern science seem to proove it and some religions like buddhism have this picture of the world too.

Another thing that i learned from psychedelic drugs is that our concept of time is just imagination. A minute can also be feeled as a month or a year in the right condition of the brain.

Tequila just because you dont know what i talk about doesnt mean that its shit. You better read some books or make your own experiences before you call it shit.

"Albert Hofmann: LSD - My Problem Child" is a good beginning.

If you dont like drugs try it with meditation or holothrophic breathing.

Hahahaha...okay, bring this up in a new thread where I can smash it down piece by piece at my leisure and stay on topic.

Thats not why i said it. Postman said the bible tries to explain evrything, and im just asking then, why does the bible say then that it cant

I still have a feelin u dont quite understand the idea of religion Peris. The whole point is that it IS primitive, its the beginning.

The universe in its original state was primitive, but not fake. When u were born u were more primitive than u are now. In mathematics there are primitve expressions from which all others are derived, doesnt mean theyre false. Simple and naive is the only way it can be if its the beginning.

Unfortunately not evrybody understands 'basic' or 'primitive' doesnt have to mean its dumber than a really complicated theory. Just to put it simply, if its not primitive, it doesnt try to explain what religion tries to explain.

Steppenwolf, are u dutch? Ur mind seems free enough :)

Religion is the work of active imagination, jesus and god are both fictional characters, but as all imaginative friends and "safe places" of the human mind, they serve a purpose, like I stated in my earlier post, the real god, the actual powerfull being and the god in religion are two completely separate entities, even if we did proof that god didn't exists and the planet was created by some alien overlords to harvest people as slaves when the race was "ripe" we'd still have religion, religion to comfort that everything is going to be allright and even if your life is piece of crap as a slave for these supposed alien overlords, after we die we go to heaven instead of rot in ground.

It is in human nature to seek for immortality through things like this, and shield ourselfs from things we can not comprehend. Religion and god has absolutely nothing to do with science, nor does science has absolutely nothing to do with god, they are both completely separate entities and they can not touch each other, the reason why some people mix these things is because just like believing that you go to heaven when you die instead rot in the ground is that it is easier to swallow, and the answer keeps us relatively happy, no hard to understand scientific facts nor formulas, just plain easy "truth", "it is because god has just made it so", doesn't it sound so tempting to believe an easy answer like that, no math nor chemistry, just few words and poof, everything is just so much easier.

You will not be able to smash it down because you never made a psychedelic experience (i assume) and i'm in philosophic, religious, scientific discussions for years. I know all the arguments of people who believe in this and that.

A own experience is more worth then knowledge that comes from a book someone else wrote.

Your problem is ignorance against other point of views. A problem that many "intellectual" people have who know everything about the world only from books. many people who believe in a religion have the same problem too by the way.

Then you should be experienced enought not to start and argument but take opinions and see them from the both points of view, I do not believe in inetlligence that only supports one theory or point of view, since there is no intelligence in that, truely a person who beliefs in wisdom and intelligence should be able to put aside his feelings and personal agenda and see the benefits of both worlds. That is why neither, religious fanatics nor believers in absolute scientific truth can never win. But those who thrive in the middle of it are the ones who can balance the power between these two parties and make it their advantage.

Kosmo i never started an argument. I told my opinion and my experience then other people laughed at it and told me that i talk shit. That annoys me and its hard for me to shut up in such a situation.

I accept that other people have different opinions but i dont like it if someone thinks he has eaten intelligence with spoons.
