I am seeing alot of people posting there unfinished maps here and linking the workshop is this something I have to do or can I wait until the deadline?

you can wait until the deadline. I would suggest posting will before then though so you can get feedback and amend your map accordingly before final submission.

I don't you should give up, a lot of these maps look great but don't have solid layouts. A well done simple idea is more likely to attract attention than an pretty but overblown/complicated idea.

Even if you don't win you'll get a lot of feedback and will learn more about mapping.

yeah, I wouldn't go into one of these with the sole desire to win, use it as motivation to get something done within a time frame. My map certainly won't win, but its going to be a good motivator to get it done.

​Never compare yourself to the best others can do. Just love what you are doing and do and be the best you can.
