That isn't something I can do anything about sadly, the editor is designed to treat line breaks as paragraphs. If single line breaks are required, you can use SHIFT+RETURN. They've done this because it's increasingly the norm for editors in web applications to do this (particularly CMS), also it's what word processors such as Word do.

Yep it'll be back, it's lower on the list than  a few other things but it'll magically reappear before long.
