Not entirely relevant for this post, but what the hell is up with the adverts now?

I realise these are real people posting not bots which makes it harder, but I checked new content this morning and 4-5 posts in a row were lame advertising from a total random.

I genuinely have no problem someone from here posting about a game they're working on though... Please just tell me if I'm being a grumpy, old man though.

Yeah I hate that shit. It almost killed tigsource for a while until they made a special forum that's basically a giant garbage dumping ground for that stuff.

I've noticed the last few days the site is running insanely slow. Up to 30 seconds per request.

The notification system is still broken/bugged it seems (at least for me, someone else could confirm?)

I reported this issue in this very thread back in July (https://www.mapcore.org/topic/18784-what-do-you-think-about-the-new-look/?do=findComment&comment=400558) but it still not fixed. I have the notifications set to "email" also but I'm never receiving any emails when someone posts in a thread of mine, quotes/mentions me or posts in my profile

Yeah I'm still getting insanely slow response time. I've noticed I sometimes get double notifications now too. Aka I'll check a notify one day then the same notification reappears the next morning.

Sorry guys, it's been a pain in the ass but I just got through installing updates that look like they might relieve the speed issues. From what I can tell it's mainly been about caching issues with the software, a recurring theme since the new version came out. Nonetheless I've been testing out all kinds of server-related things but the server itself is very snappy.

My hope is they finally figured it out now. I guess they didn't test enough with forums with 12 years of data like this one.

What about the "broken" email notifications and signatures? any ETA?

It looks like the perf got a massive boost. It was taking about 30 second a page now it's about 3-5 seconds.
