Thrik Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Looks a bit rough doesn't it? I'm not the biggest fan of the architecture anyway, but the visuals really do seem be lacking the impressiveness that Unity had — this actually looks last-gen apart from the cutscenes. Also, the big and open roads don't do the game any favours even if they are necessary to recreate the period, because they just produce swatches of boring, empty space. Quote

Plus, sorry but I hate english architecture so i'll pass. And the period is very sad and dark. I love the colors in Black Flag and Unity. Here everything seems grey. Not as much as the first Assassin's Creed but still. And the combat animations look weirdly cartoon-ish to me. Quote

Sprony Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 You know, Assassins Creed as a franchise is like a delicious looking chocolate pie with whipped cream. It whets your appetite, the first few bites are amazing but the more you eat, the more sick you start to feel. Eventually you can't even stomach the look or the smell of the pie and you're done with them for a while. The same goes for this franchise. It's overstayed it's welcome. Quote
blackdog Posted May 12, 2015 Author Report Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) Just seen the video... lolwut, now the grappling hook? And climbing on bricks that don't look like there's any edge to grip? Anyway, it's hard to get mad at this game any longer... it's a game for 14 years young and nothing more. They have multiple studios working in succession on these titles, kind of like CoD has. Considering the sheer manpower they're using I think it's slightly less impressive how they churn this out. I am aware of this, and this is exactly what I find impressive: not the speed they can make this games, but the coordination that it must take to have 1K of people working on something. Also single studios work on this and other games in rapid sequence, Massive worked on the MP -if I remember correctly- of Revelations, to then help a hand on FC3, and this just while they were developing a new and unique IP and technology.
