Tequila Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 http://www.steampowered.com/Steam/Marketing/Mar18.2005/ Some pretty decent maps, although I'm unsure how powerhouse and resistance will play. Looks like 3D-Mike got an honourable mention for delivering a stunning map that strayed a bit from the HL2 theme (thankfully!). Quote
ginsengavenger Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 i'm actually kind of disappointed that inevitableconflict didn't make it... not gorgeous but i had a lot of fun playing it :/ Quote
FrieChamp Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Do I see this right and Kamikazi's map won? Quote
Thrik Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Yes, and not only that but 3D-Mike got his entry mentioned on there too. Go Mapcore and Mapcore associates! Quote
ginsengavenger Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 yeah there wasn't even mentioned an honorable mention /category/... but something like that can't go without mention can it? gg valve Quote
Minos Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 I totally agree with valve, havent played any of them but it seems fair to me Quote
Tequila Posted March 19, 2005 Author Report Posted March 19, 2005 Next item to conquer: the world! Quote
Defrag Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Congrats to Kami / 3DMike and everyone that helped them out beta testing Quote
RD Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 3rd place is for the guy that won the first valve mapping contest with rapidcore Quote
Mazy Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 tis kewkarse that kami won the thing, but (and no disrespect meant by this) i think the visual quality of the contest winners is rather low considering the potential of the hl2 engine. Cant say about gameplay since I havent played any of them but I still think valve should've given the community some more time so that people could get some more cool looking stuff done instead of having to rushing it. Anyway, grats to kami and mike Quote
Defrag Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 To be fair, I don't think they (valve) had the time to spare. Mods with only two maps generally don't maintain interest for too long. The third map screenshot (powerhouse) does look pretty damn tasty, though. Quote
