Bodd Jonar Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Update 30-08-2015Changed name from Caliche to Strife. Updated thread with pictures to show the current state of the map. Lastly, an amazing mini map that I did in 5 minutes. Some walkable parts became black for whatever reason. Edited August 29, 2015 by Bodd Jonar Quote
Bodd Jonar Posted April 24, 2015 Author Report Posted April 24, 2015 Was inspired by the night maps that has been released for all the standard maps, and thought that it would be a great way to differentiate the map from Mirage. http://imgur.com/a/3i8Ey Opinions? Quote
Muffin Posted April 25, 2015 Report Posted April 25, 2015 Cool. Pretty sweggy honestly, the evening lightning and stuff makes the map feel very natural somehow Bodd Jonar 1 Quote
Bodd Jonar Posted August 6, 2015 Author Report Posted August 6, 2015 I have problems with the radar, when uploading a new version, I take the old radar file and change the name to the new save, and this happens. Making a new minimap everytime I update the map feels like a heavy burden. Am I missing something obvious? https://gyazo.com/f964bd5274378caafdcc3c405c7cbf11 Quote
Overdoziz Posted August 6, 2015 Report Posted August 6, 2015 I'm guessing the coordinates aren't the same as in the old minimap so it doesn't line up. Quote
Quotingmc Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) The theme is down to a point. As for the name, maybe I am stupid but it is hard to work out how to say at first. You way want to look at an easier one.EDIT: Just did a google,"Caliche is a layer of soil in which the soil particles have been cemented together by lime (calcium carbonate, CaCO3). Caliche is usually found as a light-colored layer in the soil or as white or cream-colored concretions (lumps) mixed with the soil."Maybe limestone/quick lime may work better. Instantly recognisable. Even the auto-correct doesn't no what "chaliche" is. Edited August 7, 2015 by Quotingmc Quote

As for the name, I have thought about this problem, I was thinking about maybe de_strife, but maybe that is way to close to the old map de_strike? I'm guessing the coordinates aren't the same as in the old minimap so it doesn't line up. How can the coordinates change tho, I only changed the name of the file. ):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co5aKOGcHaw He says Caliche at 4:30 if you are interested, but you should the whole clip. Yes "on point" means great or perfect. Quote
Tensei Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Right now on "v11" CT's best defense on A site is Offense. If terrorists are dedicated to rush A from Upper Entrances (Appartments and Main i will call them.) Scenario is like this.BLUE - CTRED - TYellowish - HE GrenadePurple - FlashbangGreen - Smoke GrenadeSo here comes the scenario. According to timings, by the time ct hits the a Site behind boxes T's should be at Main Entrance. As soon as 3 CT' s ( why 3 ? because 4th one is going to sit connector to mid and last one in b ruins.) come out, first one who is going to jump scaffoldings is going to smoke main.Other two are going to nade. When first one is done jumping over scaffoldings, he can self flash over the wall like in picture or ask a teammate in a site to do a popflash thr smoke. All T's are white, and CounterTerrorist at main entrance will rush through smoke and atleast get 2 or 3 picks and fall back or die ( still you outpower terrorists and get info ) Guy from connector rotates to upper a in just 2 seconds if remaining terrorists are going in. If not he stays mid and cares for mid - b rotation. End word. i really think ct's dont need more than one man playing b. Because its like dust 2 B site. only one entrance. and other one covers mid-b Second: in A Terrorist appartments, the hole in wall right, the blocked one. I like the idea of peeking through planks. Gives terrorists a bit of advantage over a site. Tho i dont think it would change much. Quote
Bodd Jonar Posted August 8, 2015 Author Report Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Should we add a cover on T side to punish aggressive CT pushes? On the latest version the A apps has been removed, and replaced with a big platform, to make it easier to flash and smoke for the T's. I never thought about playing 3A, when designing the layout I wanted to make the mid extremely important (1 way into B, 2 ways into A for T, especially tunnel to A) So I made it with the belief that playing two CT's mid would be resonable, one from B and one from A connector. one more B and one on A, and one who plays where he is needed, depening on how T is playing, much like dust2 has 4 paths to hold. But 3A is interesting. When it comes to A site smokes for T, I think a good strategy would be to smoke double doors to stop rotates, and one smoke on platform, then kill the one guy who probably plays down at site. Tensei Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I would say, make it unable for ct's to jump on scaffoldings. Red stuff near CT entrance could be some metallic rusty wall, it should be easily wallbangable. Quote
