[CSGO] De_Fracture Release!

Fiiiinally finished. Time to go to sleep. :) Thanks to all of you who tested and gave critiques/advice. Not sure who the mystery wizard is who pays for the MapCore PT server but thanks to that person too. Please feel free to criticize! I'm finally getting a good chunk of feedback on how to improve the map.

Definitely visually more appealing than the 2014 contest version release. I haven't gotten a chance to test it with real people yet though I noticed the T bots sometimes get stuck by the metal scanners by T spawn. Glad to see that you kept the surf ramps attached to the stairs from the previous version.

But in my honest opinion, you should have gone for this theme without Black Mesa logo/"brand". What I mean by that,

Is that you could have made your own facility! Name it Green Mesa, or something new!

I know that this is a lot of credit for Half Life, and it's one of my favorite games, but I just feel like Black Mesa never tied to the Counter Strike universe.

Capmore lockdown panel screens could also use some "stylish" overhaul. I feel like the neonish font you used makes it look cartoony.

But that's just my opinion! Honestly, I love what you've done so far.

ah noooo worries, I definitely appreciate honest feedback, it's exactly what i need. Don't be sugar coating it! :D

 

A few decal/texture changes could easily rename it to yellow mesa or something. The more I think about it, I think the more you're right. I can see how it's confusing for people since "black mesa" reminds them of something that isn't what they remember from half life.

 

As for that tv billboard, haha I'm completely stuck on what to do. Thought it'd be nice to have a jumbotron-like tv for cover but the 3 ads I made for that tv just look wonky (no spec map, no animation, $unlitgeneric, and jarring colors). I might just leave the screen black.

still got a lot of fixing to do but thanks! people telling me the lighting looks like poop so I'm testing out various lightings with new builds  hehe  :lol:

Subbed, not too hot on the colour though if i'm honest! I'll see what it looks like ingame.

 

hehe you're not the only one. :XD: I've been staring at my map for so damn long that I think I got desensitized on what looks off or not. Working on a tune up as I speak

Hey! As people has said, colors are too weird atm :) I remember this map when we played it long time a go.

 

Here some feedback:

 

1. Water at B has two reflections, so it's bugged

2. Stair has some weird clip on it 3a4790c98a.jpg

3. I feel both sites has too many hiding spots still, you could remove these areas:

Also I felt in some areas that it's really hard to notice enemies, but I guess it's because I didn't know where to look for enemies.

Makes me wanna work even harder to polish this map up. I'm working on some other things (tons of feedback from community which is awesome!) but I'mma pull an all-nighter again if i have to to go through those things you guys mentioned.
