DrywallDreams Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 I might just preorder a controller because i'm crazy, but I'm defo getting a link Quote
ElectroSheep Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 The link is not that expansive compared to the cable needed to connect my PC to the TV Squad 1 Quote
ElectroSheep Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 I would love too but too expansive for now Quote
DrywallDreams Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) From my experience doing my own Steam Machine, it's not very worth it. In my experience, it was a Fez machine, then a "type in a terminal and swear at Linux's generally bad wireless support" machine. Of course with hardware meant to run it, it should work much better. You will still need to deal with the performance of Linux games though. I was having trouble running L4D2 at 60 fps on a 560 gtx. Once linux gets less finicky, it should be worth it. Buuuut the question is when that will happen. Also i preordered a steam controller. I still had money from selling a TF2 hat Edited June 4, 2015 by DrywallDreams Sentura 1 Quote
blackdog Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 Waited for their controller for ages, when they announced the autumn release I decided I codnt wait that long. Anyway reviews for this are a must -- although feedback was generally positive Quote
El Moroes Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Currently, I'm more waiting for the SteamVR. leplubodeslapin 1 Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 hmm I have a decent PC so a Steam machine purchase is not a the top of my list. I'm considering to get a PS4, but a Steam Link and controller might be a better/cheaper alternative. Interesting! blackdog, Sentura and jackophant 3 Quote
Sentura Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Looks like they put up the steam controller up for pre order, I wish I could try one before buying it. here's hoping it's on E3 somewhere, then i'll put my order in. http://store.steampowered.com/hardware/let me know what you think if you find one, I'm curious about it too Quote
Buddy Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 I tried it out when I was visiting Valve last year (or two years back? Can't remember). Back then it looked like when they first announced it (no analog stick) and it was already working pretty well. I would Preorder if it was possible over here. Quote
jackophant Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 wait... what? 2 stage trigger to zoom and then shoot, but also a pad further round under remaining fingers?I appreciate the use of more fingers in a natural position rather than millions of triggers, but that sounds really uncomfortable? Puddy Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 Kinda tempted to get the controller but I don't feel like it's urgent. I'm pretty happy gaming on my PS4 for now. Sentura 1 Quote
cashed Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 I've had a go at the earlier versions with no joystick. Im glad they added it. I felt that was the biggest thing missing. Quote
