The Postman Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 Got bored, and have been making a lovely little set of old style furniture and such for me to practice modelling. I likes my little lamp the best. The picture is "The Fall" from "Paradise Lost." The book is "The Prince" by Machiavelli which I am currently reading. Ta ta! Quote
JynxDaddy Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 Why low poly ? I mean these days Nice textures though~ How is the book? Quote
xRYqX7pY2Kko2YBOCL Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 Nice, but yeah you should make them high poly unless your going to stick them in a game, or something. Quote
ReNo Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 The seat texture is too blurry for it to really look fitting in a current gen game, but the other stuff would probably look pretty good. The square table with the gramophone is my favourite of the set, though the lamp is also nicely done. Quote
kleinluka Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 Nice posty I agree about the sofa chair thing being too blurry, but everything else looks ace. Nice, but yeah you should make them high poly unless your going to stick them in a game, or something. uumm yeah, it's game art so... Quote
The Postman Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 To all that suggested I make high poly art all I can do is show you this nifty emoticon:  The chair was a helluva challenge simply because of the large flat areas it had and the organic shape of it that didn't lend itself well to being taken apart. I could've probably done a mirror-mesh on it in retrospect. These were all just little time trials for myself because I was bored at work. Set my texture size limit at 256x256 and tried to get the models to look good at severely low poly. I also watched Battlestar Galactica while doing so, but that has no bearing on these ;D Quote
von*ferret Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 very nice posty. If people can do quality low poly count models, its no doubt they can do hiquality hipoly models. Dont ignore the fact that low coly means low quality. On the contrary people who can do very good low poly models cna do VERY good hipoly models. Anyone can do hi poly, but can you do it well? Posty here can, I bet. Quote
Kedhrin Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 nice textures and some good modeling, keep up the good work. Quote
