marque_pierre Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 I would. I have. But for every attempt, my faith in the mod scene goes down a notch or two. Would be nice to be part of something, which would be released some day.
kleinluka Posted March 19, 2005 Author Report Posted March 19, 2005 I like doing small projects. Like a map. With people I know and trust. When you do small projects you can be pretty sure they actually get done and you don't depend on a group of 40 people spread out across the globe.
marque_pierre Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 So simple, so true Klein. Crawl before you can walk, walk before you can run.
insta Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Run before you can activate your jetpack and take to the skies!!
Zacker Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 I am already leading a mod, so I can't really see myself joining another mod. So simple, so true Klein. Crawl before you can walk, walk before you can run. Indeed. At Sands-of-War we decided that we did not want to settle for something super cool for our first game. It just had to be somewhat decent and get released. Then if that somehow actually should happen, then we could take a talk again. We do now have several released versions of SoW1. Based on that experience we do now believe that we are ready to make a ground breaking game, which is what we are heading for with SoW2. I simply consider it as inresponsible leading if you do not manage to hold together on your team. Letting all the work, which the crew members has put into it, go lost is simply not an option. A mod can never fail because of the team, only because of the leader. A mod can however only succeed with a great team.
RD Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 A mod can never fail because of the team, only because of the leader. A mod can however only succeed with a great team. Contradictio in terminus!!!!

Campaignjunkie Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 I agree with the "small mod" kind of thing, keeping the team to a couple of people at most. I kind of went through a phase of mod-joining too, but now I'm pulling back a lot - it's doesn't seem like what it used to be, I guess. These days I just cower in the corner, working on my own little personal projects that will never be released.
Jeremy Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 I like small groups/projects as well. The only problem is, you need a big team nowadays in order to accomplish something of relative size.
st0lve Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 I'd join a team if I like their team and I like their theme.
DaanO Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Right now i wouldn't join any team. Unless they're made out of people i know for like 90%.
