MJ Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 if your going to use that sky you need to color those dark areas on the building on the first pic. Quote
Evert Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 That isn't always true MJ, it seems the sun is coming from behind the building, and the sun light isn't always the same on the ground as up in the clouds. But I guess it would look better like that. Pretty nice work still. Quote
D3adlode Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 That's looking a heck of a lot better than it used to, nice job. Quote
Marcos Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Yeah it looks alot better, but theres still something wrong with the lighting I think. I gave you some tips in the other thread.. Quote
Evert Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Hmm the lightning is a bit strange now that I look at it again. Those round yellow lights in the first pic, on that big building look way bad. Change their lightning to some white-blueish, and make them slightly stronger. On the lamps by the roof, make the outer angle wider on them. Try and get a morw white over all look on the lightning, less yellow, and also more orange sky lightning, and try to get more smooth shadows in color, they are too dark at the moment imo. Quote
Sven_E Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 The map looks kewl but the lightning = sux~~ Quote
Thrik Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 That isn't always true MJ, it seems the sun is coming from behind the building, and the sun light isn't always the same on the ground as up in the clouds. But I guess it would look better like that. Pretty nice work still. Try not to think too logically. The sun isn't the only source of light in the sky -- it's the only direct source. The reason it looks a little strange is because the sky above the entire area would be carrying the light in reality, and illuminating the factory slightly. Quote
Evert Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Yeah I guess, it would look better no matter realism or not. Quote
von*ferret Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 Looks a lot better than your previous work. Your lights are better. My only gripe is your 3rd screenshot. Back up and take a screenshot of more of the surrounding. Notice how the door is what you're focused on? Also on the roofs have a lip on them. This subtle detail will add to the atmosphere. Quote
