Jord Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Fallout 3 is the game that comes to mind on this one. It felt like the game world was changing even while I wasn't really doing anything. And the choices I made actually mattered and changed how I played the game. I really love the way the world is built too, I can spend hours and hours just walking around looking at the assets, it's quite inspiring. Quote
TheOnlyDoubleF Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 First of all, I have to say Gears Of War: More than just a gore and violent game, there is a great and deep background on what happened because the first episode and the relationships between all the characters that we meet in the game that are not always explained. Most of all, these characters... pffff Yes there're a bit exagerrated sometimes but they are awesome to me. They always have a good word in any situation and the brotherhood between Dom and Marcus is to me one of the best relationship in the games have played. It was so strong and meaningful that I cryied in the third one when... you know, when something happened. And how not to talk about The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion. What a game, what a rich universe. I've done the game 5 times and I was stil finding new quests and stories and elements on the background. Quote
Chimeray Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Golden Sun and Metal Gear Solid for me! Quote
AyzOn Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Mass Effect and/or Dragon Age. And Im one of the few who actually enjoy the Borderlands games for its Stories/Characters/Environments. I also really enjoyed Fallout New Vegas, even though I played the game for the first time some months ago. It was quiet different from the setting, so I had to get used to it, but it didnt take long until I started to enjoy playing/mod the shit out of it. Edited August 28, 2014 by AyzOn Quote
AlexM Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 shit how did I forget the souls games (dark souls, demons souls)? I buy any art books I can find related to that game. The whole world and characters are so gorgeous. Quote
Minos Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 Resident Evil 2 was the game who made me want to learn 3d. There's just something in those environments that make them immersive as hell... Quote

Sjonsson Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Actually the WarCraft 3 campaign, played Warcraft 2 as a small kiddo and followed Grom Hellscream through everything. And to date I feel just as sad every time I see that cinematic as I would If I saw the scene where Mufasa dies, tears were shed. R.I.P Grom! Edited August 29, 2014 by Sjonsson Quote
Guest Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Fallout 3 instantly comes to mind. New Vegas too. And Skyrim. Every Bethesda game, really. I don't know really know how to explain it, but for me it seems like most new releases I play nowadays I just end up analyzing them and I try to take something away from them in a creative sense. Maybe it's because I don't actually enjoy them as a game but rather I "appreciate" them for the amount of work put into it? But when I play TES/Fallout I get past that analyzing "stage" and I just get lost in that world for hours on end. Nowadays I "get lost" in multiplayer games as they're fun to just chip away at with all of their depth and replayability along with the possibility to goof around with friends, but those TES/Fallout games are some of the few singleplayer/offline games that still hit that same mark for me. World of Warcraft also comes to mind mainly due to all of the great memories I have attached to that game. I just remember progressing through all of the leveling zones was really special the first time through. Even though questing was pretty boring gameplay, every new zone felt exotic and full of places to explore. Ashenvale definitely resonates the most with me, I get such a bad nostalgia ache when I listen to the song that played in that zone. The world felt so endless back then.
