Tero Knuutinen - Gameplay Designer / Gameplay Programmer

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am Tero "Au-heppa" Knuutinen. I do a lot of things from programming to level design, but my main focus in on Gameplay Programming and Design. One of my biggest strengths is that I can do a lot of the different parts of development like character modelling, animating, level design, as well as programming. I am currently looking for a job from the gaming industry and any kind of help and feedback would be appreciated. I have worked on a several released Source engine mod projects, but I have never had an actual paid job on the industry. My portfolio is at: http://hlssmod.net/tero_knuutinen.php

Hey man, good to see you here, I recognise you from Interlopers :)

In terms of your website I would say there's a lot of text and it's hard to pick out what you yourself have worked on. I would switch to something more visual that catches the eye and simply the organisation of it all, removing the amount of text in the process. Also it's a bit strange how the contact section references you in third person

I host my portfolio at the hlssmod.net site because I haven't gotten around getting a personal page / domain. In the contact section of hlssmod.net I kind of assume that people know who I am, since I don't really mention it in every news post directly.

In the videos for From Earth example, most of the models, animating, programming, level design that you don't recognize from HL2 are made by me. The main character is going to be redone by someone who is more talented in that area, but for example all the alien models are done by me. Not having a lot of screenshots of levels I have made, or truly impressive character models has always been a problem when trying to make portfolios. I tried to remove some of the screenshots of the models I had made because they are probably not the most impressive part of my skills.

I thought about posting some of the Source engine tutorials I have been working on but I am not sure if they are something I should include in a portfolio.
