Em' Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 This looks really boring. They should turn into Movie maker. (edit : i mean, kojima, seems like to not be interested by gameplay... So better go make movies) What the hell are you saying man? lmao, some of the best games I've played, ever, were made by Kojima. If it's not your cup of tea, sure, just say so. But that's utterly not true. Its not my cup of tea, but this don't invalidate my point of view : this "playable" teaser is just a scripted corridor with cheap writting, i already said that I find Kojima's scenario wobly (and people whom i told so and who disagree are pretty much the ones who play MGS as young kids and enjoyed it). No need to get mad about my words, i didn't played SH younger -HP- 1 Quote
Grinwhrl Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 If they add combat like in Condemned, than I'm in. -HP- 1 Quote

Final product will be third person as well. Put it this way, what would you prefer, a 2 minute video on youtube with a "PRE-ORDER NOW!!11!" or a playable teaser that's actually original? Quote
PogoP Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 This looks pretty cool. People were going mad over this at work today, I think most people didn't even realise it was a Silent Hill teaser. The turd- baby in the sink was fuckin creepy. -HP- 1 Quote
Mazy Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Incredibly well done in terms of atmosphere, I ended up losing patience with it after a while tho, took me a bit to figure out that you could zoom in with the right analog stick (was the last thing I tried clicking on the controller after being stuck), and that you actually needed to use that to trigger new shit, watched the rest on Youtube. It definitely did it's job tho, I've gone from being completely uninterested in a new Silent Hill game to be totally hyped. -HP- 1 Quote
Sentura Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 They could have done without the intro speech, that was terrible writing. Quote
PaulH Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I thought the teaser was awesome, played it through to completion. I did get stuck a couple times though first time when I was supposed to press X on that picture - had kinda forgotten by that point that it was interactive. Second time when running through those red corridors, i spent ages trying to follow the sound (I thought I had to keep running in directions to make it higher pitched or something), had to look online to find out there was a little hole in the wall somewhere in the dark that I had to peek into. I looked into the hole and had trouble keeping R3 held down while looking around too, so kept coming out of it accidentally and having to start again. In the end was a little disappointed I didn't get the teaser trailer, from looking online again it seems there's quite a convoluted method of unlocking it though Games don't normally scare me, in fact they never do, but I did find a couple of bits in this genuinely freaky (might have helped that I played it alone in the dark with headphone volume up the woman in the bathroom with her head going all crazy actually almost made me do a shit. The thing that grabs you and turns you round though wasn't so effective, a bit too obvious and in your face. I liked the guy up on the balcony though, something easy to miss but particularly creepy Overall really well done with great sound design and a very effective use of one section of a house Very much looking forward to Silent Hill now -HP- 1 Quote
blackdog Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Why is the on-screen text (the one in handwriting popping up exploring) in Italian? Haven't played the original(s) but I like a good crap in my pants.Good stuff, even though a bit too long in the build up(?). Anyway, what annoys me in these games they feel so real but you can't do anything you would do yourself... like kick doors when someone is trying to get in, or squish the creature in the sink. Put it this way, what would you prefer, a 2 minute video on youtube with a "PRE-ORDER NOW!!11!" or a playable teaser that's actually original?Always thought that this should be the way to promote a game with serious intentions. I really don't understand the point of putting celebrities in video games, it sort of really breaks the immerson imo.I was reflecting on this topic after seeing the casting. Though I wouldn't go so far to say that... not sure, part of me likes some good and famous actors (see Kevin Spacey in COD). Guess it depends on the actual game and casting choice? You might get this impression cos Reedus is on the top of the wave thanks to The Walking Dead, here in the west. Might work the opposite with an eastern celebrity, for a moment I imagined if it had the guy from I Saw The Devil. Edited August 15, 2014 by blackdog Quote

I was actully scared ! The graphics, the thick athmosphere - these are those games we want more on the next gen ! I JUST CANT FUCKING WAIT ! and on my way to make a laundry . . . -HP- 1 Quote

General Vivi Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Such an awesome demo. I love how realistic the house and lighting looks. Great job. Quote
knj Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Stanley was confronted by a ghost. He had seen the ghost before, time and time again. Stanley had long since lost his fear of the ghost and just wondered why he couldn't grab the keys by the front entrance and walk out of the house. Stanley stood there and pondered this for a moment and decided to reset the hallway just one more time. Stanley was confront by a ghost. http://kotaku.com/nobody-actually-knows-how-they-solved-the-silent-hill-t-1621044581 Thats why Kojima is a KING ! Quote
Chimeray Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Played it at 1m per 10 seconds. Scary as fuck. Lost it when that ghost closed the door. I was trying to trigger shit and it felt so random, out of nowhere. The scare at the door where she kills you didn't do as much though. Quote
D3ads Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 I'm just looking at media from Downpour, I didn't realise how gorgeous it looks... Look at all that detail!!! Quote
