hammer error

So after 8 years i decided to go back to mapping again but i never encountered this problem before.

 

Everytime I try to run hammer using CSS, I get an error that says "Failed to load the default scheme file. The maps views may be missing some visual elements."

 

basically cant load any textures into hammer

 

I have source sdk base 2006, 2007 and 2013 installed help please

Have you tried opening the Hammer.exe in your "..commonCounter-Strike: Sourcebin"-folder?

 

Also: who plays still CS:S

Go to steam/steamApps/CS:S/cstrike , there is a text-file called gameinfo.txt, rename it ( for example gameinfoBACKUP.txt)

 

After that go to https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/38118182/source%20sdk/cstrike/gameinfo.txt , right click save as, again put it in you cstrike folder and try to run hammer again.

If you want to play again you have to rename your gameinfoBACKUP.txt to gameinfo.txt.

 

Depending on what you want to do you have to rename the gameinfo every time, mabye there is a better solution...

this worked
