Pretty sure it's just a support studio for the engine, and they won't be making games? If you look on their site, you'll see they aren't hiring any artists or designers etc.

Seems like a great opportunity for programmers at least. Maybe with time they'll expand, who knows. Nice to see anything at all like this happening in the UK though...

The Epic UK GM responded to a similar comment on GI.biz:

 

 

 

"just" support..? We're involved with the actual development of Unreal Engine, as well as a few Epic games. It's not support - you could see it more as working as part of an international team of developers. We do support as well, of course, but the bulk of our work is actual development.

 

Doesn't look like they'll take on full game projects (yet) so I'll give you that :)
