Bought Door Kickers! Good fun if you like Frozen Synapse.

(Use HD + fullscreen! It's blurry for the first few seconds though.)

Here's a simple gameplay video which I just recorded of Door Kickers and it's the replay of a mission. Basically, you plan how your troopers move, which angles they should cover and when etc. A really nifty feature is that troopers can be ordered to wait at certain points until they hear one of three go codes which you can issue (alpha, bravo, charlie - you hear these in the video). This allows for some neat coordination. Very rewarding game and I highly recommend it if you liked Frozen Synapse or if you're a fan of tactical games like Rainbow Six. I've only played 4 hours but there's definitely potential here.

Sounds good, I think I'll grab it =)

Got Metro 2033 at 80% off (2.99$). the offer is still valid for the next 4 hours if you need to sink your teeth in :) .

Man I really wish Metro 2033 would have played out in a STALKER like sandbox instead. I would have so much fun just going between the different metro stations collecting weapons and doing shit, before going to the end of each line to shit my pants from whatever terror they could dream up there...

Yeah, Metro was too scripted in the ways that Stalker at least FELT natural. The NPCs in COP felt like the most natural, realistic NPCs I've ever seen, because their canned animations expressing their emotions were based on dynamic experiences rather than scripted and voice acted events. Seeing a dude surrounded by corpses wearing similar clothes, his head in his hands, is a really moving moment in COP that feels run of the mill in most games, where you know those corpses were just placed there for set design, rather than previously living NPCs that had been killed by dynamic bad luck.

anyone know of any games on sale that have good or creative environment art direction? I don't mean impressive visual fidelity but just games that have a unique feel to the environments. So hard to pick out games in the summer sale!  :???:

Depths of Fear: Knossos. It's set in the Labyrinth of the Minotaur, which has been altered to house a dozen other famous Greek monsters like the Hydra and Satyr, with randomly generated stages with different themes. It's like $2 right now.

Also Betrayer, on sale for the next hour for $4, is really good. Nice exploration and investigation based gameplay in a Roanoke Colony type setting. Very beautiful game, and I really dig how they let you fuck with the light and color saturation on the fly to set a mood you want.

That is that Sin City like game right (visually)? Is it really worth getting?

You should! I'm hooked :)

There's also Workshop support, so you can keep on playing.

Here's a video I made:

Steam Sales in a nutshell: I was looking at today's deals and saw Scribblenauts which looked pretty cool but I wasn't a 100% sure I should get it, after 5 minutes of watching reviews I finally was like: Fuck it, I'll get it. So I clicked on "buy" and noticed I already have it...

Probably got it from another sale, lol :P
