w1z1k Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Hi mapcore, So I made a custom paint job, and I have on my factory new p90 some grey spot, like it's already well-worn, it uses the Valve's alpha channel, cause I don't add an alpha channel to make it works. Why? cause when I make a really good one, it never works, it looks really nice when it's factory new, but when I look at "battle scarred" the paint is still perfectly applied and just some dust is added to the custom paint. it doesn't work well. Even if I use an alpha channel almost black or grey or almost white. Always the same problem. Too black, battle-scarred looks factory new, Too white, everything looks dirty but the paint is still applied perfectly, I mean the paint doesn't come off. Your help will be appreciated. Thanksusing valve's alpha channel, look at the handle = some grey spots !!!. , BUT it worksusing my own alpha channel, factory new looks new, but battle-scarred looks dirty not old like it supposed to bealpha layer 1,alpha layer 2tl;dr: using valve's alpha channel, factory new looks worn ; using my own alpha channel, battle-scarred looks dirty but not old. w1z1k Posted June 18, 2014 Author Report Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) found it. I was using valve's alpha channel. It was not the right thing to do.I had to paint the alpha channel grey around 130,130,130 and I added some darker zones to details I didn't want to lose. Yeah, that easy! Now it works.the alpha channel looks like that Edited June 18, 2014 by w1z1k Quote
