Despite the hate the first one got, I liked it. So I'm looking forward to this:

Also, Open world, Cry Engine, Next Gen only, Online co-op ;)

Now with screenshots (Thanks e-freak)

Although blatantly HL2 inspired and that i'm not seeing any gameplay, design wise that's looking pretty cool, damn.

Now, beanie rebels (you need a beanie these days if you wanna be a rebel) against north korean fachism in america...

The 'By Crytek' bullet point shouldn't exactly get your hopes up r1ar :P

This looks pretty cool. I love the idea of an occupied America and having to fight back. It's all very HL2.

I also like the idea that you won't be particularly fighting a great deal, and you have to use guerilla tactics more than just straight out gun battles. That should be very interesting, especially when it comes to multiplayer. Is it going to have traditional multiplayer ala BF/CoD?

Interesting that it's set in Philadelphia. I can see it in the skyline and the poor suburb house design a bit in the screenshots. Philly is by far one of the most European-esque cities in America (because it's so fucking old), and plenty of interesting environments and landmarks imo. Also woodlands and wetlands very close to the city. Philadelphia International Airport is actually on a place south of the city called "Hog Island," lol.

Now, some of the thematic shit might get... tricky, though. Philadelphia has a large immigrant Asian population, including Korean neighborhoods and a Chinatown. Hopefully that doesn't play into things "Japanese Americans during WW2" style, and we see Asian people on the resistance side besides just enemies.

Edit: In general I hope the game's racial cast is diverse, considering Philadelphia is not majority white, they're roughly 1/3 of the city's population.

I don't think you can comment on the gameplay based on Crytek's history at all, since it's an entirely different universe, one that's probably lacking in the nanosuits and aliens department. Homefront 1 was boring, imo, because it was too scripted and hand-holdy, to the point that in some areas you could easily look around and see the edge of the map because they didn't even expect you to look over to the side when walking across a street or whatever. Homefront 2 being Free Radical and being open world are both huge positive potential points. Hopefully the game gets the time it needs to shine. :)

Trailer looks pretty good. It's a bit strong sided in the sense of the guards being all like "hah, so cute, Wake up America, poor resistance fighters!" It's never that black and white and I prefer when it's left a little bit more ambigous.

It looks good but I can't shake the feeling I've played this kind of game a thousand times.

But hey, MachineGames surprised us all by making an otherwise boring premise be really good with Wolfenstein, right? So I'm staying caustiously optimistic for this one. Also I know the UK guys were hungry to have a say and do their own thing, so I'm sure they're putting a lot of passion in it too! :)

PS. Loving the Sci-fi elements, MORE of it! :D

Haha don't get all emotional about it Paul, I was just messing around. Crytek's history has been to make beautiful but.. Not so well designed, games. No offense Will. ;)

Fingers crossed you guys can pull it off! I shall be pressing my Crytek sources later  :D  (No, not you Will!)
