Tequila Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Happy days! But have they fixed the texture values issue in Hammer yet? I bloody hope so. Quote
skdr Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 What's wrong with texture values? Quote
Tequila Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 What's wrong with texture values? Lift is now obsolete for some reason, but when you use Lift & Select and apply the values, they disappear. Unlike Hammer 3.5 and those before it, you have to hold Control to keep the values. Fair enough, but now when you want to move the camera to texture multiple brushes, with the same values, that aren't in immediate view, the camera button closes down the texture window and thus the values are lost - unlike in Hammer 3.5 etc. where the values would be retained when you reopen the texture window. Moving the camera manually using WASD and the arrow jeys is haphazard at best, and therein lies the annoyance. Basically, it's a few tiny bugs combining to form an unefficient annoyance. I can live with it, but it'd be nice if Valve fixed it, and it surely wouldn't take them long. Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Who uses the camera button? Quote
Tequila Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Who uses the camera button? Me! Also: I've been checking out the new 6 included singleplayer .vmfs... some complex stuff right there. Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Bah. Space bar = your best friend. Until you go over to/back to Radiant... *shiver* the copies, THE COPIES! Quote
Defrag Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I do the same thing when I try to learn max.. I constantly lock my selections. It gets bloody confusing trying to use several 3dish packages Quote

Joe-Bob Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I kinda like that texture application bug, it taught me to use WASD for the camera, which goes much faster. The only functionality I hoped that BSPZIP would add isn't there. You can create scripts/soundscapes_manifest.txt (or whatever) files all you like, but HL2 sure doesn't bother parsing them... Quote
Pericolos0 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Happy days! But have they fixed the texture values issue in Hammer yet? I bloody hope so. they should be adding the lightmap preview too ;s I hate working in a fullbright map. Even the vertexlit old hammer was more pleasant Quote
