Castle Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 My dislike for COD aside, that 7 minute gameplay trailer did nothing for me. Was bored 2 minutes in and stopped it. This is an interesting trend where this genre is seeing a drop off based on the idea that more more more wont be the winning formula forever. We literally need to give COD giant mech suits with jet packs and nukes to make it feel fresh. What next? Can you just become planets and crash into each other? ESToomere, Pampers and Sprony 3 Quote

Castle Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 Call of Duty: Advance Planets 11/10 - IGN Less is more, is something I wish they will go for next. Yeah, a more streamlined COD4. Quote
Castle Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 Sorry for the double post but check this out. I played a little bit of ghosts today and I found it really hard to want to keep playing. This list is really insane though. -HP-, knj, 2d-chris and 1 other 4 Quote

jackophant Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Unfortunately COD isn't really for gamers now. Just how many joke that TF2 was a hat simulator, CoD has become a weapon simulator for people to be wowed, not by gameplay but by almost everything else. When the setting gets stale, refresh it, when the same weapons and the billion unrealistic attachments get stale, refresh them. It's a cash cow for actiblizzard, which appear to be more interested in milking adolescent boys for their money than fostering a real game with purpose. I feel EA are now going down this path with the battlefield titles they are churning out as their "CoD killer" IMO they should have looked at promod, and made changes based on that to create that competitive scene that is trapped in MW1. As an original CoD fan, "i r sad" Quote

Oh well, nothing to complain for me then. So you can still find people playing online (on PC as well)? Quote
Puddy Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Aight, I bought this. First CoD game in many years. My ambition is to have at least 5 hours of fun jumping around like an idiot in MP, any more is a bonus. Quote
Mazy Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Yeah, got it as well for PS4. Really in the mood for something like COD right now, good dumb shooter action, probably helps that I skipped Ghosts and that this is getting pretty good reviews~~ Izuno 1 Quote
-HP- Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Will only be playing it next week because busy with things, and honestly, I can't fucking wait. Quote

Really in the mood for something like COD right now, good dumb shooter action, probably helps that I skipped Ghosts and that this is getting pretty good reviews~~ Yeah Ghosts totally bummed me out and I didn't bother finishing it (in fact I just rented it). Sorry to all the good folks at I.W. I still <3 you! I'm feeling saucy and since Activision isn't going to send me a free one until maybe mid 2015 f-it i may just buy it. Question is...do I buy a disc? Digital DL? PS4? XBONE? Steam? Probably PS4.... ...and I'm thinking disc since back in my day we hiked 3 days uphill, in the snow, with no shoes to get our discs and by gar that's the way we liked it. Quote
PaulH Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Am enjoying this, only a couple of missions into the campaign but seems more interesting than Ghosts was. Still the same old Cod though, with lots of invisible walls in the level design and a few strange design choices - there's a leaving mission area prompt, which is fair enough, but I had it come up when walking down side streets in the first mission that had massive great walls a few meters into them, why does it need to reset me if I can't get past the walls anyway? Multiplayer is where it's normally at though, and it seems pretty sweet. The new abilities I was worried about, but really you end up playing it much like the previous games except you can now use the boost jump to get to higher places. Maps seem quite bright and clean which is nice. Will continue to play it this week, it's good so far though. blackdog and -HP- 2 Quote
Alf-Life Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Few missions into the SP and I'm loving it. When playing Ghosts (and BF4) it felt like the team and public were getting tired of FPSs, but this (well, Wolfenstein New Order first ) has revitalized my love for well-done action games, even if they are scripted/linear. -HP- 1 Quote
