I used to live in a town of 50,000, and it's insanely quiet. It was hard to sleep and everything felt super isolated.

My hometown is a lil less than 50,000, went there to visit my family last weekend, after 5pm that shit is a fucking ghost town, scary as fuck

I grew up in a town with ~18.000 citizens but a city with 325.000 is just 20 minutes away by car. Plus there are small villages and towns scattered throughout the area in between, so it never felt like being "isolated". If you are European and not from a village with less than 500 souls, I won't take you seriously  :v

I grew up in Ter Heijde (the one at sea). Now it has 520 people. Back then, max 400. Eat that :)

For the sake of reference, the city I live in now has 508.940 people.

Will probably catch up on horror movies and games because she can't stand them.

Ditch. Ditch. Ditch. My last ex in a nutshell: 'Stop playing stupid games and give me attention 24/7 i.e you have no free time. I want to watch only films that I like, I don't want to watch any of yours.'

Just horror movies. Our TV is in the bedroom so it's a little hard to sleep with murder in the background.

Otherwise she's one of the only ones who enjoys gaming. I knew it was love when I brought out mario kart and just destroyed me. I didn't realize she had 18 years of practice :X

I grew up in a town smaller than 50K. I really enjoy being away from noise, having a garden, birds singing and telling me it's 5am after a night of coding :3

I can really see myself living in a big city like London, especially while younger -- especially when single, there's so much in terms of entertainment.

I am concerned about noise levels... I used to sleep anywhere, but I noticed I'm becoming fussy so dunno if i could sleep in an area where there's noise 24/7.

I'm also sensitive about noise levels at night, but living in a big city like London doesn't mean that every street is like Picadilly Circus  :)

Yeah exactly Friechamp, I've been at a friend of mine in Notthing Hill and there was no noise, I think London is great cos you have these very quite, very central and possibly quite green areas.

In Italy a city like Milan is quite rubbish, and its a fraction of London!

Mansfield is my closest town.....shieeeeet.

Village I'm in is like 1k people tops, probably actually only see about 20 a day though  :)  Its cheaper for me to have my mortgage on my 3 bed house here (£350pm) and drive the 65 miles to work each day in a 4x4 than it is to rent a 1/2 bed flat near work!

Wow man that's a great price for your house. Houses up north are so much cheaper! I pay £1500pm in Clapham. Totally not worth it.

Yep it sucks man! Me and Emma split it between us so it's like £725 each. It's awesome living in london but that price is insane! I think we pay £1450 or something actually, but it doesnt really matter!
