Level Designer

SUMMARY:
Firaxis Games is looking for an exceptionally skilled Level Designer to help take the team that brought you XCOM to the next level.  As a Level Designer, you will be working closely with the Level Design Lead, Game Designers, and the Environment Art team to help design and build high quality levels that match the look and feel and style of gameplay of a particular game world. The ideal candidate has a combination of solid aesthetic sense and technical attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Work with the Environment Art team to design and build 3D game levels in UnrealEd.
•    Work with Design team to script game and mission events using Unreal Kismet.
•    Playtest game content, providing and integrating feedback into gameplay iteration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Working knowledge of building 3D environments in a game level editor (UnrealEd preferred).
•    Three years of game industry experience in a level design capacity.
•    Shipped at least one title as a level designer.
•    Strong written and verbal communications skills.
•    A passion for making games.
•    A portfolio of work that demonstrates these qualities.
•    Experience with real time lighting and VFX placement a plus.
