Evert Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 High contrast picture taken a few days ago. The colors were amazing outdoors, everything was grey with a yellow hint, I felt it looked pretty cool in this pic. A new version where I cut it off at the bottom as Daan suggested. Quote
st0lve Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Plz u ripped my forest I love this kinda pics Quote
DaanO Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 great picture, i almost always love pictures with silhouets, and this is no exception. i'd cut of a big part of the black at the bottom though, it fucks up the composition, it puts the line of black/colored sky exactly in the middle and that just doesn't work. Evert Posted January 18, 2005 Author Report Posted January 18, 2005 That is kind of what I liked about the picture, that most of it is only black. But I cropped it now, not as cool I think, don't wanna spend an hour editing a photo really. Quote
-Stratesiz- Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 It's a great picture. The original is better, it's more grand and poster like. Quote
Grin Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Nice pic, i like the atmosphere a lot. I hope the next time it's going to be a strong storm here during summers I can take a pic of the yellow. I've seen it twice during last two summers, it's so unreal when everything is like full of yellow light before the storm. Quote
Marcos Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 A very nice photo! I agree with strat that the first one looks best. Quote
Crackerjack Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 It looks really nice but I like Daan's suggestion alot more.. its more comfortable to look at. Amazing picture. Quote
DaanO Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I like it better as well (cool that you put it up!), but i would go for just a little more black. Also, when i compare the two, i have to admit, i like how your version isn't as conventional as mine. The second may be more comfortable to look at - which is good as well - but it might not be as interesting. I guess to chose which is best, it just depends on what you want to achieve with your photo. Nice work. Edit: Forgive me if i'm wrong, but you also scaled the second version, right? Why not make the picture square instead of postcard-size? I just tried this in Photoshop, and if you make the picture square (no scaling) it looks best in my opinion. It combines the unconventional/interesting look with something that is comfortable to look at. It would be how i'd do this. Quote
