When you select multiple layer folders and click on the small arrow with ctrl key pressed, you can open or close all the selected folder?

My tip of the day: When you click on the small button next to "Lock:" above your layers you only paint on top of the pixels that already exist in your layer.

Photoshop - Quick Save Maps

This is not really a tip, but a really useful plugin for Photoshop: Quick Save Maps

Allow you to save with one button several textures that you have inside your psd file, that you separate in different groups in your psd layer hierarchy.

It can save you a lot of time, I really love this plugin.

 

Photoshop - Create your brush toolbar

A bit like in Zbrush.

You can create a big brush toolbar visible at all time. It is not really easy to do, but you can follow instructions here:

Illustrator

Using eyedropper tool, with SHIFT key, samples only the color of an object.

Useful when you need to get one specific tone from a gradient fill. Or sample a color from a text to another text field, without getting the type style, only color.

This can be powerful when combined with X key, to swap between stroke and fill colors.

Not a tip but it might be interesting and there are no other container-topics that I see.

Sketchbook Pro 2015 has some very cool cool features, check the video from Scott Robertson, celebrity concept artist.

I really dig the first feat he illustrates: the cursor snaps to the perspective to easily draw grids!

Great tips.

A good thing I found in the new releases of Photoshop is that you can attach an adjustment layer to groups also, in CS5 you couldn't, only to layers.
