MrSpazzie
Hi, I was trying to start a video game development company... but gave up, because I couldn't get any financing (investors say my game ideas are good, my business plan is well thought-out and impressive... they just do NOT invest in video game startups). So, anyway, I decided to just go ultra low budget (we slave for free) and I can do the programming, textures, sound effects by myself, I just need several 3d modelers. I want to split the game sales equally to everyone that works equally on the game. Basically, we work from our homes and you e-mail me the models you make, while I work on the engine. I am planning on using Havok's Project Anarchy engine. If you're interested, let me know and we can discuss the premise of the game's story. General Vivi
Dear David,Generally when people see quick posts like this it tells them that the OP isn't that invested and can't spend 15mins writing a proper post. More info might work well in this situation if you are truly looking for help. Consider adding examples of your work. knj

Chimeray
I think more people would be interested if they saw a flashy website of your game, be sure to spend a lot of time designing a company logo as well. Don't even think about working on the game just yet, we don't really need to see anything tangible, what we're really interested in is the marketing plan. (In all seriousness. A lot of us here have been part of mods/startups/indie games and a lot of them din't see the light of day, for a variety of reasons. The game just plain stucks, the team splits up, unqualified people on the team being asses... whatever. Working over the internet is hard. And then in the end you expect people to work for free as well. I sure hope nobody falls for it, the likelyhood of things just going wrong are too big. Look at it from our side... Where's the credibility?) Edited March 21, 2014 by Chimeray

tomm
pledged of $3,000,000 goal $3,000,000 three millions .. sorry I had to edit: Not to sound rude, but you haven't shown anything and you can't expect people to throw money on something like that.. it seems like you didn't even put much effort into the game itself. You have to make us want to help you and seriously the goal is just ridiculous. Edited March 21, 2014 by tomm knj

MrSpazzie
Sigh... Sighing? You mean about the investors? Chimeray, here is some more info about the game. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mr-spaz/zeta-ophiuchi-2 Be sure to spread more the workd MrSpazzie, twitter is fine, but you have no follower :... I deleted all of the info for that because I didn't want someone else reading it and stealing it. pledged of $3,000,000 goal $3,000,000 three millions .. sorry I had to edit: Not to sound rude, but you haven't shown anything and you can't expect people to throw money on something like that.. it seems like you didn't even put much effort into the game itself. You have to make us want to help you and seriously the goal is just ridiculous. $3,000,000 is actually cheap for a AAA budget game. I was going to build the entire city of Boston, use the Havok engine to make the entire city (including the subway system) destructible. I had thought of an entire story and such. Basically, I was going to hire staff and for a video game company, the minimum salary is $30,000, multiplied by 10, then multiplied by 3 years, it comes to a friggin' tower of BILLS! Also: Aaaaaaaand yeah, in general, I agree with this picture, because it sums up most of the people on kickstarter. And I've abandoned Zeta Ophiuchi 2, because I didn't get funding. And I didn't get investors. So to hell with all of them! As for now, I'm going ultra low budget and just going for it. So, I'm building a different game instead. One that can be built bits at a time. Chimeray, here is some more info about the game. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mr-spaz/zeta-ophiuchi-2 Be sure to spread more the workd MrSpazzie, twitter is fine, but you have no follower :... You are officially my personal stalker. Congratulations. Reminds me of this gem: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376466869/lore-0 Check the comments, it's fucking hilarious. Best thing though? I can program, build 3d models, textures, edit sound effects and everything else I would need to do. As for the god part, yeah, that's me. But don't go worshipping me just yet, I know my place. I'm not a god you worship, I'm just not one you step on - but I don't mean that as a threat. The project I am working on is more or less, the world did not split, all of the continents are still together in one large land mass and the entire planet is ruled by 4 kingdoms. One of which is heavily based on the Roman Empire and Greek Empire (Alexander The Great) combined, with some extra rules/laws being borrowed from the current Untied Kingdom. It is an RPG (NOT an MMO, because that requires a server.... one I do NOT HAVE), the Player will be able to have 5 Playable Characters, each character will have a pet, no magic (I want some realism). The combat system will be real time, turn based, kind of like final fantasy, except without the stupid timer. The characters will be able to be repositioned and will have all of the different gladiator types they had during roman empire. There's more, but that more or less sums up the outlining of the game. I was planning on seeing who was actually interested in working on a game, then telling them the story and such and seeing if they are interested in the game, but if everyone that says they're interested in working with me, but NOT on that particular game, then I try offering one of the other dozen game ideas I got. Dear David, Generally when people see quick posts like this it tells them that the OP isn't that invested and can't spend 15mins writing a proper post. More info might work well in this situation if you are truly looking for help. Consider adding examples of your work. The games are in the written concept stage. Also, it's a forum post, if you're going to spend a lot of time for a "forum post", you need to start considering a career in novels, not forums. If someone is going to be sitting some place, typing for 15 minutes straight... two words... therapy needed. I think more people would be interested if they saw a flashy website of your game, be sure to spend a lot of time designing a company logo as well. Where's the credibility?) You're right, but then you have to wonder, why am I even bothering and the answer: BECAUSE I WANT TO BUILD A VIDEO GAME. If everyone bitches out and abandons me, then I'll stand alone, as usual. If I had friends that knew how to do anything I needed, I'd grab them, but all of them only know how to type and post pictures of animals running away scared... But I don't actually know Oli Hobbs. So what would you suggest, Chimeray? How would you suggest I get a big game built? I need help, so I'm asking for it. I think this guy wont even reply . . . Maybe I shouldn't have even bothered replying...

Corwin
The combat system will be real time, turn based, kind of like final fantasy, except without the stupid timer. Seriously though, no-one makes a AAA on his own, or even with free contributors. Keep those ideas of yours in store for when you have stuff to convince people you can build games. Make something small, and when I mean small, I really mean small. Like that you know for sure you can finish under a year. And then don't be surprised when it ends up taking up to 3 or 4 years, because that's what happens. You sort of ask for all the abuse you get with a post like that, a kickstarter page like that, and expectations/dreams like those. It's just so far from reality that we can't help but not take you seriously. Edited March 21, 2014 by Corwin
