blackdog Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 Another Arkham Insider video, with a better look at the dual play feature I hope the build shown here is a bit old, because the transition between animations on display seem quite jaggy. Quote
-HP- Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I'm trying to stay away from any media, but damn, i'm hyped as hell for this game! blackdog 1 Quote
-HP- Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 This remaster bullshit has got to stop! btw, why are people so bothered by "remasters" or "hd rereleases"? I'm just curious.... why would you be annoyed by seeing an old(er) game being released on a more recent console? I'm really struggling to find a rationale or logic for that. Quote
Sprony Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 btw, why are people so bothered by "remasters" or "hd rereleases"? I'm just curious.... why would you be annoyed by seeing an old(er) game being released on a more recent console? I'm really struggling to find a rationale or logic for that. For me, two simple reasons: A remaster has got to make sense. Look at the Resident Evil remaster earlier this year. Great update to a classic. Huge difference. I'm all for that. Now take the God of War 3 remaster. That game looked so good on the PS3. They can only slightly improve on that. What's the point? Volume. This is becoming remake gen. I want original IP's. I want new games. I don't want remasters, definitive editions or whatever from games that are a couple of years old dammit. Everybody's just cashing in at this point. So yeah, I love me a proper remake/remaster. But do it properly for really old titles like what they did to Homeworld. Don't throw in some higher res textures with some DLC and call it a remaster. blackdog Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 The annoying thing is the price that is normally too steep for a very basic port. The remaster invasion is due to the new consoles*, lot of good titles at the end of generation that wouldn't work on the new one. Also think lot of people waited buying stuff (eg GTA5) knowing it would come upgraded. *especially for PS devs have to change the whole engine architecture right? Quote
blackdog Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 Seeing the Batman deal on Steam, I was just thinking that I wouldn't mind at all a remaster -the previous games made with the new engine- I'm tempted to buy the old ones just because I've limited access to the Xbox and Batman it's all I want to play atm.Holding off of course, but if they will remaster for real, well, playing with boosted graphics might be something I'll want to spend a few coins on. Even Carmack said it was more difficult to program for. The PS4 is specifically designed to make it more compatible with PC architecture. Hence the enormous indie influx! Quote
