KidDynamite Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 i like the art style alot, overall could be a very cool concept i think if done correctly (page 2 snipas) Quote
Schmung Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 HL1 would be shit with this. Horrid, ugly, etc. HL2 I think could do it with some artistic licence taking. TS works with lots of layour, provided that you can use the stunts to modify your route a bit. Due to stunts and movement in general, stuff that would be hateful in most mods, works fine in TS, then again, there are special considerations to be taken into concern when making a TS map, space for movement, people jumping all over the shop and screwing your carefully nulled geometry etc. Quote
zpanzer Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 imo MOH:PA shadow engine is better then source, mest becouse the player cant se its one shadow(aswell as model) and dont have an "dynamic" shadow that is affekted by all the lights in the map like props an brushes do. Quote
CrazyMAC Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 someone worse then me i think source can beat the old Quake3 engine which MOH was on i belive ;o~ but yeah people would have seen me say this alot source does seem to lack in shadows on alot of things i would expect shadows maybe farcry and doom3 spoiled us for shadows....then again ut2k4 has pretty cool lighting. DreamScar Posted January 15, 2005 Author Report Posted January 15, 2005 I think ultimately this guy wanted it to be for TS, but at this point, with the limitations of the HL2 engine, he would just like to see it made for an engine capable (farcry, HL2, etc). Quote

I thought you were being sarcastic in your previous post. MOH:PA's "shadow engine" is a heavily specced up Q3 engine, it is as pretty as it gets with that engine. I finished the game and it got some really nice effects, the whole pearl harbour scene was amazing but the visuals of the islands? The jungles were narrowed in by "vegetation walls", brushes with vegetation textures on and anything else but open spaced. They were really ugly man, I think hl2 can do better than that. Quote
RA7 Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Reminds me of TS_UNAMI, by SlickY although he never released it..:-( http://www.lanmaniax.com/maps_old/html/ts_unami.htm Quote
ShaDoW Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Is it just me, or does TS_Unami sound very ironic? Quote
RA7 Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Is it just me, or does TS_Unami sound very ironic? Well he designed the map before the WAVE...(hmm that sounds even stranger ) Quote
Dag Posted January 16, 2005 Report Posted January 16, 2005 I think it'd rock if it was pulled off properly. Quote
DreamScar Posted January 23, 2005 Author Report Posted January 23, 2005 bump... is there anyone that would like to give this map a try? Quote
