Hey Mapcore.

First off I'm rather new to the forums. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

Are these scaffolding done as models or blocks? I can't seem to find the model and they come i various sizes and shapes. If either would you recommend blocking out a scaffolding or make a model? (note I've got no modelling experience.) But thinking of learning blender for this project.

Welcome! Regarding the Hammer screen. Set the game to windowed mode. The problem should be gone then. Worked for me.

Thanks!

I already run the game in windowed but compiling and letting hammer start the game, resets all my graphics options. Guess I could lunch the game manual.

Would you know how to start the map through console without bots? Because "map mapname" starts a lan server with casual play mode and ten bots.

If you're changing it in game, that doesn't work. You have to set "-sw" as a launch option for the game in Steam.

No, that I wouldn't know.

You can remove the bots by using the command "bot_quota 0"

Alternatively you can use:

bot_stop 1 - which will just stop the bots from doing anything.

As for the scaffolding I'd use at least models for the frame and possibly the wooden planks. You could make the planks using func_detail brushes so you could place planks where you want to in the editor.

Do you know how to set bot_quota 0 before starting the server? using doing so in console before using map mapname does nothing. My problem is my computer spending time making nav meshes for bots each time I rename the map. (different save files).

The scaffolding (both the metal framework and the wooden planks) are models. Just search in the model browser for something like "scaffold" and it's there. It's only 4 models total and you basically can make whatever kind of scaffolding you need with them.

Ah thanks. Found it as the Aztec Scaffolding system.

To stop Hammer from resetting your video config do the following:

  • Open up CSGO and set your video settings.
  • Go to /csgo/cfg/ and look for the file video.txt
  • Set this file to read-only
  • Voila!

Thanks! I always have to change my resolution after starting CSGO as it always changes it back. This should fix it :)
