blackdog Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) It's my personal impression that Quantum Break is slightly better looking(?). Edited August 14, 2014 by blackdog Quote
knj Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Who is thinking about getting this ? Dayym I'm so pumped to get this, but I'm afraid this is just a interactive movie Quote
blackdog Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Sad to say, but games like these are good when bundled Quote
Sprony Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 Who is thinking about getting this ? Dayym I'm so pumped to get this, but I'm afraid this is just a interactive movie I've been following this from the start. But however pretty and original it looks it just doesn't convince game play wise. I wouldn't mind if it's an interactive movie but it's rumored that the campaign takes about 5 hours to complete. That's just not worth the full retail price. I'll wait for the reviews and if positive, I'll still wait for a hefty price cut. Quote
knj Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Yes, I've heard about that 5h campaign Quote
Mazy Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I don't mind a short campaign if it's excellent while it lasts, but based on what I've seen so far then it looks like a gorgeous but average cover based shooter with very few tricks up it sleeve in terms of gameplay. Will wait for some reviews before I do anything knj and blackdog 2 Quote

Will wait for some reviews before I do anything Sure, I'm all for quality over quantity. Hell, I've played indie titles that lasted 2 hours and made more of impact on me than games that took 20 hours. It's just that you can't really justify a 60 dollar game for a 5 hour SP campaign with no replay value (if the rumors are true). Especially when you know that the very next day the second hand market will get flooded with copies and it will loose it's value at warp speed. Why buy something for 60 when you can probably get it for 30 within 2 weeks? Quote
FrieChamp Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 TBH I've never seen much point in pre-ordering. Too many games that just don't live up to the hype. By now it's a rare occasion that I buy a game on Day 1 actually. 2nd hand discounts that you mentioned and especially sales on Steam make me wait a few months and then get the game for a lot less nowadays. F2P games also have an effect on my perception of prices surely and I'm not saying all of this is a good thing, but it's how I feel and I'm probably not alone. The second point which might be interesting to discuss is if this is a warning flag for AAA developers on current consoles. The question of whether an SP game with that kind of production value is sustainable. Sentura, Sprony and knj 3 Quote

The question of whether an SP game with that kind of production value is sustainable. Yes, good point about the warning flag. Same goes for pre-ordering. But now all of us should have been burned at least once. I'm not doing it anymore either, unless it's GTA. Also, the whole DLC thing has gotten seriously out of hand. Especially Ubisoft with it's 200 different versions at launch. Or even better, Evolve with it's clusterfuck of a marketing scheme. Quote
blackdog Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 I thought we were past the warning flag, and that everyone already says it is indeed unsustainable. That's why the preorders with all the ridiculous bonuses. I'm behind the quality over quantity, but I'm never gonna pay full AAA price for the average shooter. The only preorders I've done in recent years were those coming cheaper than average anyway (Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake). Quote
Sprony Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 You know, come to think of it, in this day and age, there's really no reason to pre-order anyway. I might have it wrong, but for me, pre-ordering used to be about making sure you had physical copy on day one. Local retailers could run out, web shops weren't booming yet, the second hand market was cumbersome and digital distribution was in it's infancy. But now you've got limitless opportunities to secure a copy. Even exclusive DLC content will, most of the time, become available for cheap later on anyway. So why the fuck pre-order in the first place? I think it only makes sense for collector editions. You know, the kind they only make a few of. Quote
blackdog Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Which they don't anymore. Anyway, then there is no reason to buy at day one if you have a reason to buy d1 that preorder makes sense, more sense than waiting for the game to be out. Unless you wait a few months then, or buy used (which I decided not to long time ago) Sprony 1 Quote
