I'm excited. I think a shorter format — at least for now — could be good, as it'll force them to avoid the padding and figure out what makes the series work. To an extent I did like the longer format of the previous seasons because by the end of it you were almost feeling as fatigued as Jack Bauer and it felt like you'd been truly involved with the crazy shit going on due to following it minute by minute, but some seasons did feel like they didn't really know what to do with all that time.

Fuck though, when 24 was good it was good. The only thing that's come close for me in recent years is Homeland, although I've still not watched past the first season of that. Highly recommended for 24 fans, though.

I actually loved season seven, and felt like that was exciting all the way through. It really felt great getting out of Los Angeles and mixing up the formula, and it looks like they'll be continuing that by setting this one in the UK(!!). It'll be really interesting to see how Bauer's unique approach fits in with our different approach to many things over here. ;)

Yes, agreed with D3ads. Although i haven't seen some of the most awarded shows (eg Lost) i think 24 is the best show i've ever followed. And it's funny because at the beginning i saw just a few bits on tv and dissed it as "too cheap and old", i found the clock count particularly annoying... then i started really watching it when they were already like at season 5 after couple of friends stressed me over and over.

Yes there were some filler episodes here and there, and you would spot them immediately, but overall with such a long season it would make up for that, while for eg. i'm still hurting for the stupid fly episode in Breaking Bad.

As far as I can remember seasons 6 and 4(?) were the less gripping, but boy.

Hype train coming through for this one.

Let's trip down on Memory Lane:

(and this makes me miss so much the good ol' USP in CSGO)

I've just realised something... 24 was real time, each episode was exactly an hour with commercials, so if it's only going to be 12 episodes long... how is it 24 hours?! Is each episode going to take place over two hours? I get some of the episodes were filler material... but it was still damn good, even when not much was happening.

Yeah Chloe is a bit over quirky and out there but she's been a central character since S3, she had to be back!

Chloe does my head in, sad they're bringing her back. I love a bit of Stephen Fry, though. :D
