Em' Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Never had patience to play AC saga... I'm hyped by this one ! Quote
selmitto Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Coooool! I would deffo play it. Quote
-HP- Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 What Sessler said, is exactly my feeling! http://revision3.com/rev3gamespreviews/mordor-impressions Quote
Sprony Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Apparently more people feel it looks like AC2. More about that here. In short, former AC2 lead accuses Monolith of using AC2 code. Quote
FrieChamp Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Can your character fall in love with the unique personality of an orc, too? Now that would be innovative. TheOnlyDoubleF and deceiver 2 Quote
PaulH Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Update from Monolith dev here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-24-assassins-creed-dev-questions-shadows-of-mordor-similarities I do find this kind of hard to believe: Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor design director Michael de Plater has said an Assassin's Creed vibe "definitely wasn't something we were consciously going for". Chimeray Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) The vertical climbing is eerily similar More so than the combat I think. Edited January 24, 2014 by Chimeray Quote
Vilham Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Indeed. For me its entirely the climbing, the other aspects like fighting has completely different anims, only the air assassination looks vaguely similar. Quote
Warby Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 i usually hate those scripted voice over narrators but this guy is pretty good! if the reviews are alright id play this. (unlike assassins creed) Quote
dux Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 Never played any AC game - so this being in middle earth makes me interested! Quote
blackdog Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 How can someone talk about "stolen code" this easily, have Ubi employees moved to Monolith? There are no links between the companies and the publisher is different, how could you do such thing... decompile? FFS, that's some heavy accusation, I don't think that imitating an avatar's behaviour/moves is so difficult, if that's your priority, but that's totally different than "having my code in there" :-| And i don't think that such an outburst reflects well on Capybara Games. Anyway, finally a LOTR game looking good, i could never care about the MMOs. I hope the AC similarities end on the animations, cos for as nice as AC was, i never wanted to play any of the sequels. Parkour is definitely the best thing in there, i actually have popped the game back in some lazy afternoons, just to enjoy freerunning for some half hours. Quote
