tomm
The important question is, is it fun? .. if the whole game is based on chasing down a big ass monster.. I dunno, doesn't sound like something i'd play as much as I played left 4 dead.
Vilham
You need to play things like hidden then. These games are generally pretty damn fun.
KoKo5oVaR
It's too bad it's so arcadey . also jetpacks When will we see a proper slowpaced and more realistic jurassic park multiplayer fps based on hide&seek with dinosaurs, humans and amazing leveldesign.* jizz* Sentura, Nerve, selmitto and 1 other
-HP-
OMG! YES YES YES! This seems like it will be a game right up my alley, i love the legacy of L4D in here! This is game design!

Sprony
Turtle Rock has never made anything worthwhile, and they seem to continue on that path with this game. wat You got this option in your profile called "Manage ignore prefs". Sentura
I'm sorry guys, I think I'm just tainted by the fact that it's made by Turtle Rock and that its design is pretty much what L4D3 would have been had it made the cut. But they're making money, so good on them! I'm sure it'll turn out great for people who like those kinds of games! (also I expected more gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8 from you guys) Edited February 11, 2014 by Sentura
Sentura
Also this: It's too bad it's so arcadey . also jetpacks When will we see a proper slowpaced and more realistic jurassic park multiplayer fps based on hide&seek with dinosaurs, humans and amazing leveldesign.* jizz* I think the main reason I don't like this game is that it doesn't really present anything I can't play currently. The setting would give points but in reality like Kokos said it's so arcady that you pay more attention to healthbars and weapons all that rather than focus on the environment. Maybe I'm getting old, but some really cool slow paced think-before-you-shoot coop games in a super cool setting would be amazing, R6 style. -HP-
"it's so arcady that you pay more attention to healthbars and weapons all that rather than focus on the environment." Lmao! I thought koko was trolling? Wasnt he? I mean, what we need is more arcadie games, and less real life simulators. Give me dudes with jetpacks and big sci-fi guns huntig big ass fucking dinosaurs over hide and seek behind a bush to hunt a deer game ANY day of the year. You guys want to experience real life, go outside, lol. KoKo5oVaR
Sentura
Real life won't let me shoot carefully picked out dinosaur game with a laser rifle... yet. I guess the arcade pace just doesn't swing with me anymore. Edited February 11, 2014 by Sentura
KoKo5oVaR
Well actually no :'[, it's only a personal preference, i kinda like slow paced gameplays with less "statistics fights" and more "tangible" feedback. As senture said, i agree it gives more time to use the terrain tactically rather than having a map that just serves as an arena. That's funny, i guess it's two style of playing fps, because i remember a CS source lan i was doing with friends (i sucks at CS but i'm pretty good at Redorchestra); In corridor maps i got totally owned by most when reaction time and timing were important. But on an open map with just a pyramid in the middle some bushes and walls around, i totally destroyed them all by using covers, flanks, ambush and tactics. (the camper??) Just never been satisfied by seeing healthbars slowly going down for fps and rts, it's like, my brain can't process the information. You take a bullet in the face, you are supposed to die. That's why i don't like warcraft3, starcraft, dota and the like. I only lack imagination, please, don't hit me. Imagine around the same idea, "The thing: multiplayer", with a slow paced gameplay and "realistic" weapon damages, lots of randomized items to pick up, players that become the thing when they get killed but have to fake it, lots of vents and places to hide, that would be amazing. I can't see that arcadey, fast paced with big healthbars for example. (please if you have the license hire me) There is this napoleonic wargame with a mode you play as a general on the battlefield which has to stay alive and send orders to your units with couriers on horseback, and those said couriers can be intercepted by the ennemy disrupting your orders, the goal is trying to be realistic, but i find it somehow creates new refreshing gameplay for a rts. You can create new experiences by basically just trying to be realistic (you never achieve it since it's videogames), wolfenstein at its time just tried to be a murder simulator where you play the killer in first person. "How amazing that would be to just be in the eyes of the guy killing nazis, it would feel you are actually doing it!!" amazing experience killing nazis yourself etc I like jetpacks, but when you have to refill them with fuel yourself, when they can stop to work at times giving you a good adrenaline boost, have 36 buttons and need a manual to operate. You get the idea But yeah it's absolutely not the same kind of game, so no offence or anything. I'm a guy who plays wargames, and i can tell you my family were absolutely devastated when i announced it. edit: oops derailed the thread, but yeah it's not like i would want to be chased by dinosaurs in real life. I'd rather like to drink beers, see good friends, do futile stuff like writing these posts on mapcore. (Brillant idea, mapcore posting simulator) And i can't kill deers or people in real life either.. well i could, but it's not socially ok El Moroes, Sentura, Puddy and 1 other
Sentura
Actually Mapcore posting simulator sounds pretty hilarious. You get to pick your poster/fighter and every poster would have a different goal vs. the AI. Also, I completely agree, but I am less rts and more tactically focused. I love stealth games, which are I guess placed somewhere between q3a and peggle in terms of pacing. It's tense if you want to make it tense, but it's also less tense if you don't want that. It's funny that non-stealth games don't do this, it's seems like every shooter nowadays just aims to be a linear one-playstyle experience. I'd love me a multiplayer stealth team vs. team game, with one bullet kills. The trick would be to conceal yourself and find other players rather than use twitch shooting. Then add to that stuff like evasive actions and sprinting and it would get really interesting IMO. KoKo5oVaR
