misutow0lf Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 So, I know this is kind of a weird question, but why not? I was thinking about kicking it oldschool (while working on de_pozar) for some variety and getting back into CS 1.6 mapping just for the hell of it. Would anyone else be interested in dusting off their GoldSrc mapping skills and having some old-school level design fun? I know it's sort of a dead community with regards to level design, but I would be 100% in favor of being the one to host a server for testing on my VPS personally. I think it'd be fun. I miss 1.6 a lot (and still play it!), and I think it would be a way for me to sort of get better with my geometry skills (as opposed to props, etc.) Feel free to reply if you're at all interested. I plan on having a server up this week, if not only to have somewhere to play (Eastern US!) and make some new friends. IT COULD BE AN ADVENTURE! I was also considering maybe hosting a server for either Q3A or Q2, and having some fun with either of those. Thoughts?! Quote
FMPONE Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 It would be cool. Feels like everyone on Mapcore is focused on "real" projects though, so to go back and work with an older engine takes some real thought. Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Yeah that isn't "real" enough because we can't put that in our portfolios, but still i would be pumped for another 24 hours goldsource challenge Quote
FMPONE Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 24 hours is a good idea koko. I'd participate Quote
