Sprony Posted June 3, 2015 Author Report Posted June 3, 2015 The fuck guys... Am I the only one that absolutely loved that trailer? Considering the scale of the game, it looks really good too!See the second reply from the top bro (previous page) But I understand your confusion. Reading these pages I have learned that consoles are holding the industry back. Also, post apocalyptic games need to be brownish/grayish. Anything remotely different immediately imitates Borderlands. It's wrong to reference elements in a trailer that made the franchise. That you shouldn't give people want they want because the world needs subtlety. But most of all, I learned that you can predict the game not being good based on a 3 minute trailer without actual gameplay. Quote
ShockaPop Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 I think the trailer looked fantastic! To me, the last two Fallouts (3 and NV) have been all about the story, environment, exlporing and just the feel of things when you play (in the large open wasteland). At least I enjoyed them a lot despite some errors here and there. This new one seems it's going to be even better! I sure as hell hope so. Quote
Mazy Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 The fuck guys... Am I the only one that absolutely loved that trailer? Considering the scale of the game, it looks really good too!Naw man, I'm hyped! Can't wait to see what they'll show at E3~~(and whether it'll be a 2015 title :O) Quote

Sentura Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 It's almost as if it's a trailer for a new fallout gameOh yeah, just like its predecessor... oh waithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPt08UYmyMo Quote
Beck Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Personally I love the trailer, but maybe I'm biased because I'm a massive Fallout fan. From the trailer:It looks like we're actually going to have some lighting in this game. There's actual light and shadows present! The environments seem much more detailed now, I just hope we can interact with it at least as much as we could in FO3/NVIt looks like we'll get to see just before the bombs go off. Perhaps in the tutorial or something? It'll be awesome to see the panic as the bombs drop! Finally, it looks like we're getting some improved animations. They're not perfect, but compared to FO3/NV they're vastly improved. Especially the dog, it actually has some character it seems now!Speaking of the dog, it's present in the trailer a lot. I guess it's going to play a big role being your companion. Maybe sniffing out objects in the environment etc?At first I wasn't too sure how I felt about this, but the game looks damn colourful. I think it's a nice change over the ever green/ brown of FO3/NV but it does kind of detract from the feeling that you're in a wasteland. I guess after a few decades the world would start to clean itself up and you'd start to see colour come back into the world. Look at Chernobyl.Power armour looks HUGE now. Gonna be so badass wondering the wasteland in one of those suits When the music kicked in and we see Vault 111's door open I think I let out a little squeal at work.We see quite a few largish looking settlements/cities in the trailer. Since the graphics aren't top of the line (as in you need SLI'd Titans to run it) I wonder if the world is going to be bigger than we've seen previously. Skyrim was pretty huge, would be nice if they could top that. Regardless I can't wait to explore and steal EVERYTHING.New Deathclaws looks pretty beasty! The group of ghouls in the supermarket... just awesome. I hope there are a number of areas with tough groups of enemies to challenge me in FO4.Seems like air transport is quite common. Maybe a form of quick travel? And finally, the main character appears to have a voice now. Some people seem a bit put off by this. I don't mind. I've been choosing text replies for my character to say over the years, why not just have him speak them? Can you tell I'm excited? 2d-chris, -HP- and Sprony 3 Quote
FMPONE Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 I think with this game it's more of an artists problem I'm afraid. Must be said however that the art direction seems better than Fo3 this time. I'd much rather play less than perfect looking game with decent quests than the other way around (see Gta V)I think the art direction is fine, you just named another open-world game that looks better, and it came out a long time ago. That for me is the depressing part, I guess I have to get used to Bethesda gamebryo games having only "OK" graphics. It would be cool if they were PC exclusive and we got to see an amazing futuristic-graphics Fallout, but I guess that's just a fantasy. To me this trailer left me less hyped than the Fallout 3 trailers did, but whatever. Vorontsov 1 Quote

It would be cool if they were PC exclusive and we got to see an amazing futuristic-graphics Fallout, but I guess that's just a fantasy. To me this trailer left me less hyped than the Fallout 3 trailers did, but whatever. I dunno, even Skyrim's visuals didn't look incredible when I saw the first trailer. There were plenty of open-world games that looked better than Skyrim at the time. I remember being disappointed at the time, but it's clear that the appeal of Bethesda's games is something much more. Almost as soon as they open the world up, the graphics just sort-of take a backseat. It's also important to keep in mind that the visuals of Bethesda's games have always been very modular. If you're disappointed with how it looks, there will most certainly be a 2k texture pack +ENB presets to spice things up. With the right presets and texture packs you can make Skyrim look like a game released this year. The whole "next-gen" thing really screws with the level of expectations for new-releases. It sucks because graphics are one of the easiest things to get hyped over and also one of the easiest things to be disappointed in. I'm not sure if I've seen a game that screams "next-gen" or makes that leap from what we expect from games now to the "future" - even though the consoles have been out for 2 years almost. I don't think I ever really expected it to be a Bethesda game that would make the leap in visuals. I guess in a way that is depressing, but all things considered - the visuals look to me like an improvement on their previous works. Maybe it will be Valve's first Source 2 game or something to make the jump to what we consider "next-gen". Who knows. Edited June 3, 2015 by nikkoship Quote

PogoP Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 I really, really like the idea of being able to explore the world before the nukes go off. I imagine the game will start with you and maybe your family and dog or something, all living out your lives before the nuke. Maybe you start in your car going to work, or coming home from work, back to your idyllic, American Dream-style house with a lovely, well-kept lawn, your wife and kids waving you off or back from work.... You spend the evening with your family, and then the nukes go off. You pack your things hastily, and escape to your assigned Vault. Then maybe.... To explain the time difference, perhaps you get cryogenically frozen, and then wake up decades, or a century later.. Your family are missing. You have to find them.Could be awesome Sentura and -HP- 2 Quote
