For fucks sake Alex stop making rubbish games.

3D Horror Maze
pre_horror.png
This game started as an entry for Arcasfifonscreeremminco (The RR Cassette 50 One Screen Remake Mini Competition), where the objective was to remake a retro title in a flawed way parodying compilations like the original Cassette 50. However the game massively deviated from this premise as it developed. I'm not going to enter it.

Instead I ended up remaking 3D Monster Maze as if it was a horror game Let's Play on Youtube. Complete with stylised static, an ending links screen, and even web-cam support so you can see yourself pretending to be scared.

Brick Force

pre_brick.png

Brick Force is a bad clone of Breakout for The RR Cassette 50 One Screen Remake Mini Competition, where the objective is still to remake a retro title in a flawed way parodying compilations like the original Cassette 50. Unlike the above I didn't go off on a weird YouTube Slender Let's Play angle and it's my actual entry.

Brick Force is a rather terrible rendition of Breakout for many reasons, but mostly the fact that if any of your multi-balls exit the screen it's game over - making it basically impossible.

I promise the next thing I make will not be intentionally terrible.

Haha, I'm cool with it.This thread is weird thread anyway. It probably should be in games discussion as a more general jam thread.

Nice game action! I jumped on the things and read the signs and then landed in spikes. 10/10 would game again.

Tower of Icarus
pre_tower_f.png

A platformer created for the Procedural Death Jam where the goal was to create a game in the newly coined Procedural Death Labyrinth genre (roguelikelikes, roguelites, etc).

The world is randomly generated as progress is made up the tower. The player and enemies all benefit from statistics that can be rewarded or removed either permanently or temporarily by drinking potions. Potion effects are randomised each game. It was rather 'inspired' by Kid Icarus.

pre_boxingday_f.jpg

Few weeks ago I made Boxing Day with some friends for the Great British Winter Game Jam competition in London. The theme was British Winter and it is a local cooperative multiplayer game about kids pushing a box down a muddy hill and pretending it's a snowy mountain.

Everyone contributes to the steering of the box and gets one special responsibility (ex: horn scares deer). Levels are randomly generated from predefined parts, Spelunky style, and speed and frequency increases as you go.

That's right, I moved this to General Discussion. Call the cops.

I've made about 16 games in 2 years now. I'm sure I'll do a load more in 2015, but I am thinking about actually making a bigger project rather than all these game jam plops. They're fun, though. Global Game Jam is coming up in January, is anyone planning on joining in with that?
