Taylor Posted January 26, 2014 Author Report Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks peeps! I also made another game today but it's kind of intentionally bad (this time, ZING). It's for the Candy Jam, which is for making games that infringe on King's trademark because fuck 'em. It's basically just match 3 only I forgot the grid. http://tayl1r.itch.io/saga-candy-hd-remix 'RZL, Nerve and Rick_D 3 Quote
Taylor Posted February 8, 2014 Author Report Posted February 8, 2014 For fucks sake Alex stop making rubbish games. 3D Horror Maze This game started as an entry for Arcasfifonscreeremminco (The RR Cassette 50 One Screen Remake Mini Competition), where the objective was to remake a retro title in a flawed way parodying compilations like the original Cassette 50. However the game massively deviated from this premise as it developed. I'm not going to enter it. Instead I ended up remaking 3D Monster Maze as if it was a horror game Let's Play on Youtube. Complete with stylised static, an ending links screen, and even web-cam support so you can see yourself pretending to be scared. Web Player | Download Quote
Taylor Posted February 16, 2014 Author Report Posted February 16, 2014 Brick Force Brick Force is a bad clone of Breakout for The RR Cassette 50 One Screen Remake Mini Competition, where the objective is still to remake a retro title in a flawed way parodying compilations like the original Cassette 50. Unlike the above I didn't go off on a weird YouTube Slender Let's Play angle and it's my actual entry.Brick Force is a rather terrible rendition of Breakout for many reasons, but mostly the fact that if any of your multi-balls exit the screen it's game over - making it basically impossible.Web Player | Download I promise the next thing I make will not be intentionally terrible. 'RZL Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 God, I didn't endure it for even 20 seconds. Good job on making it terrible! Taylor 1 Quote

Taylor Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 Haha, I'm cool with it.This thread is weird thread anyway. It probably should be in games discussion as a more general jam thread. Nice game action! I jumped on the things and read the signs and then landed in spikes. 10/10 would game again. Rick_D 1 Quote
AlexM Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 hahaha I didnt realize that you were supposed to go ut of your way to make it crap. Quote

Taylor Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 Tower of Icarus A platformer created for the Procedural Death Jam where the goal was to create a game in the newly coined Procedural Death Labyrinth genre (roguelikelikes, roguelites, etc). The world is randomly generated as progress is made up the tower. The player and enemies all benefit from statistics that can be rewarded or removed either permanently or temporarily by drinking potions. Potion effects are randomised each game. It was rather 'inspired' by Kid Icarus.Web Player and Windows Download. AlexM and Mazy 2 Quote
AlexM Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 A more fleshed out version of this would be a really fun game to play on a tactile portable (3ds/vita) Taylor 1 Quote
Taylor Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 I've since made Sword and Shovelry (which I'm quite proud of) and Bit of Garden (which sucks). Also today I finished Fire Escape for 7DFPS where you have a teleport gun and do some platforming. Web Player and Windows Binary here: http://itch.io/jam/7dfps/rate/13767 Here's a video of the short route - there is a longer one if you can find all the secrets. Spoiler video here. Squad 1 Quote
Taylor Posted December 22, 2014 Author Report Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Few weeks ago I made Boxing Day with some friends for the Great British Winter Game Jam competition in London. The theme was British Winter and it is a local cooperative multiplayer game about kids pushing a box down a muddy hill and pretending it's a snowy mountain.Everyone contributes to the steering of the box and gets one special responsibility (ex: horn scares deer). Levels are randomly generated from predefined parts, Spelunky style, and speed and frequency increases as you go. Taylor Posted December 26, 2014 Author Report Posted December 26, 2014 That's right, I moved this to General Discussion. Call the cops. I've made about 16 games in 2 years now. I'm sure I'll do a load more in 2015, but I am thinking about actually making a bigger project rather than all these game jam plops. They're fun, though. Global Game Jam is coming up in January, is anyone planning on joining in with that? blackdog, Sentura and Sjonsson 3 Quote
