ZZZ Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Pretty. It's in between PS2 and Xbox and way behind PSP Vita. Quote
ShockaPop Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Looks nice! I haven't played on handhelds much (I only have NinDS Lite with GTA Chinatown Wars, New Super Mario Bros and Bomberman), so I can't say much how it compares to other handhelds. It sounds new to me, that the engine code is done in Assembly. Isn't that kind of really low-level programming language? Quote
marks Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Assembly is about the lowest level programming you can go. Quote
Thurnip Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 Yeah, maybe is behind vita... but i think nintendo usually chooses a good balance between graphics, battery and gameplay. I have an PSP and the battery is way behind Nintendo DS and even 3DS. Vita's battery is short too, i've heard. Unfortunately, imo, sony didn't catch how to make a good hand held experience. Quote
Sentura Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) ...but are the games worth playing? I think the main reason I haven't gotten another handheld since my original DS bought back in 2007 is because the games aren't really worth playing for the most part. I think the GBA was the pinnacle of games, if only because of the release of Warioland 3 (coincidentally also the best handheld game ever). EDIT: My bad, Warioland 3 first came out on Game Boy Color. I retract my statement with the GBA. Edited November 4, 2013 by Sentura Thurnip 1 Quote
Thurnip Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) totally agree! in fact, the biggest use of my PSP was playing GBA emulator and searching for hidden gems and so i think PSP (probably vita) games not that cool to play on a portable device. The play sessions usually are too long, IMO. GBA was a cool system with amazing games. Yet today i play a some GBA games on my DS Lite. the 3ds is a great system too. Im playing a lot lately. there's good games for the system Edited November 4, 2013 by Thurnip Quote

Vita isn't so bad. I havent noticed any different between it and my DS's. They both average around 4-6 hours. I can imagine the PSP is bad though because it has a physical disk drive. totally agree! in fact, the biggest use of my PSP was playing GBA emulator and searching for hidden gems and so i think PSP (probably vita) games not that cool to play on a portable device. With it's quick suspend/unsuspend it would be great to have a bunch of arcade classic I can play in 5 min spans between daily affairs. I'm working on a game right now for the vita to try to satisfy that urge a little bit actually. Although I think I'm using a graphics feature that wont work on vita currently.
