tristalin Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) hi everyone, I am making a map for alien swarm and here is what I have so far. the first image is my first top down of the level. I wanted to make the map more about the flamethrower, one way of doing this is to add more blockage that needs to be burned down. now I can also play around with flamethrower fuel and add more detours to get to the fuel. I also added color to show the height better. Light blue is low and green is up. Currently I am building the first room with full functionality to get myself up to speed with the hammer editor. feedback is always welcome Edited October 28, 2013 by tristalin Quote

tr0nic Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Valve needs to support alien swarm. I would like to see a big update, something like a new campaign along with workshop support.About the map layout: Looks nice, nice details. I think your legend is missing where is the START. tristalin Posted November 10, 2013 Author Report Posted November 10, 2013 Hello Again, been away for a while but i'm back and work hasn't stopped. first i will re upload the ground plan. like mentioned above there where some parts missing: I also made the first room with minor gamplay elements to learn the hammer editor. all in all not the biggest obstacle. also made the rough blockout version from the Layout. to get a clear picture of the map. now i will begin to work smaller and smaller so i don't lose the big picture. So next up is the implemantation of major elements like the bridge and the elevator. Quote
tristalin Posted November 19, 2013 Author Report Posted November 19, 2013 Hello ladies and gents, I have made some rather big changes. I had to ditch the idea of working with the flamethrower. it wasn't really working and turned out quite a limitation. So the big change is you don't need the flamethrower anymore to get to the end. have a look and feedback is always appreciated. Quote
esspho Posted November 19, 2013 Report Posted November 19, 2013 what's gonna happen when players reach the end? bloodhound-pickup? elevator ride? overall it looks rather short playtime wise (not a bad thing). since you seem to have a scenario - what kind of environment will it be? looking forward to a playable version.
