Hello

First of all, kinda off topic - I'm new to this forum and also, english is not my first lanuage. Hehe, be gentle..

I've made a lot of maps on the old HL engine, but I'm new to this HL2 engine, another thing that I'm new to is this whole displacement function in hammer.

When I descided to check it out, experiment a little, I ran into an texture bug, or I'm not sure if it's even a bug. I can't seem to find any solutions, I only have one theory of what's causing it.

Here's a photo.

You clearly can see that the textures don't align smooth to each other.

I have used the sculpt function to shape the hill and hammer does'nt seem to like that..

So, here's my questions:

-Any suggestions to what might cause the problem?

-Is there any way to fix this?

-Is there any better way to make an hill like this?

Thanks

Also, make sure your not adding displacements to the entire brush. Only the top face needs to be selected when creating the displacement.

i suspect this is the problem. using the texture editor face selection tool, select every face except for the displacement-desired face, and delete using the displacement tool.

I have tested out the sew option to try to sew it tighter, but that did'nt do it, is the sew option the way to go?

yes it is, if it doesnt work it means the grids of the displacements aren't aligning properly/ aren't the same size, try to cut them up a little to get uniform grids.
