venomus Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Hello, just another Rust minion dropping by. These are shots of my map dm_ultracore. It's small and intended to reflect the gameplay of old classics like frenzy, datacore and rapidcore, while matching up to the next-gen aesthetics of Doom 3's tomiko reactor. Originally I had not intended to enter the contest because I had plans for a much larger project dm_synapse. This map is basically the work I had already done on it. Quote
Sven_E Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 looks kinda plain and blocky. but the 2nd pic looks cool. Quote
Phlek Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Just started my own DM map in the citadel. Looks nice though, I like the horizon. Quote
RD Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 this reminds me of datacore Post some more clear pics tho, cant see much from these shots Quote
venomus Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 Here are some more pictures. Also the image host for the first batch seems to be down. Hopefully they should be visible again soon. Quote
W01f Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 looks cool Nice to see I'm not the only one using the citadel textures. Quote
Evert Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Cool, really looks like the citadel. Quote
tundra_cool Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Looks pretty good but Rapidcore was not a classic, just a crappy submission. Quote
RD Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 It takes genius to recognise genius, and rapidcore was it. Btw has anyone played this map? Quote
MJ Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 Looks pretty good but Rapidcore was not a classic, just a crappy submission. i agree. Quote
von*ferret Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 3rd pic shows a lot of your level!!! CONGRATS. Sersiously take pics of your level not the sun entity. Quote
mikezilla Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 maybe he was showing off one of the nice little touches in the map i thought it was a nice touch as well, gave me geography on the map location. so why dont you cool your ego when posting comments Quote
von*ferret Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 I'm sorry mike but if he stood back and took a more broad picture of the surrounding areas and how the window and sun interacted with other details it would've been more successful representation of his level. However in that picture we see a window made out of brushwork. Prop models. The skybox. And the sun entity. Its not much for show of his level or his ideas. Quote
mikezilla Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 and yet you didn't say that the first time you made a derogatory comment with no feedback whatsoever peculiar Quote
