Steppenwolf Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 So modern golf courses should be dumbed down and aimed at a casual player base. Quote
Sentura Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 interestingly the structure of theme parks seems like a close ancestor to level design. There's a (scholarly) article I wanted to show but apparently it's been taken down, but the gist is basically that the flow of people is directed while still keeping an open path. blackdog 1 Quote
blackdog Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Even the design of a supermarket could be compared to level design, since flow is so important(?) Quote
cincinnati Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 But don't ever put the fucking milk in the back past all the other shit in the level if all I need is fucking milk Quote

There's this cool GDC presentation that talks more or less what you are saying: Everything I Learned About Level Design I Learned from Disneyland -- Scott Rodgers http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1305/Everything-I-Learned-About-Level Quote
JeanPaul Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 My golf course would definitely involve guns Quote
