dux Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) What's going on at EA guys? has hell finally started to get a little colder? Edited August 20, 2013 by dux Quote
Puddy Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 24 hours after launching the game, you say? Sounds like a great way for people to beat SP-games for free lmao. Perhaps I would exploit this system too if it weren't for the fact that I hate Origin. Sentura 1 Quote
Mazy Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 That's pretty cool, hopefully Steam will get something similar~~ Quote

Perhaps I would exploit this system too if it weren't for the fact that I hate Origin. For sure... Also, I'm pretty sure EA would use that as their new metacritic. Chimeray Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 This sounds like a horrible idea for EA but great for consumers 24h is plenty to finish a game ... I guess they're gonna push MP even more heavily than before to counter it? Quote
Beck Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 Definitely open to exploitation. Also do you get a full refund to your card or store credit? What if I buy a boxed product, activate it on Origin then claim a refund? I'm guessing that wouldn't work. I'd never buy anything on Origin anyway, prices are way too inflated. Though, a lot of PC games are reaching the console level of pricing these days. Even on Steam. (X: Rebirth, Europa; Universals IV, Saints Row IV to name a few.) Quote
blackdog Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 There's a "we will not refund if we smell fraud" clause in the detailed conditions. Maybe they'll track if you beat the game (a-la Steam) and don't refund in that case. Or maybe they'll put filler content in the games that will prevent you to finish in one day Quote
Chimeray Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) We hope every game you play on Origin will meet this high bar, and we're happy to say that starting today, we can guarantee that we'll make things right if you decide the game you just bought didn’t live up to your expectations. If someone finishes a game it might still not have lived up to their expectations and their self-entitled gamer ass would be able to demand a refund cos it wasn't worth the 60 bucks...? I mean, that's what is written down there... They should be transparent what they consider to be fraud or abuse. Edited August 20, 2013 by Chimeray Quote
Buddy Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 If you hate a game you'll hate it within first couple hours or even earlier. If you spent 8 hours with it then you liked it enough to finish it. This policy will be nice if it prevents abuse like that. Rick_D and blackdog 2 Quote
blackdog Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 I'm putting my money they won't refund if you finish a game, maybe even if you go 50%/4+ hours into it. -HP- 1 Quote
-HP- Posted August 20, 2013 Report Posted August 20, 2013 I'm putting my money they won't refund if you finish a game, maybe even if you go 50%/4+ hours into it. Exactly, there are ways to track those kind of stats. This is a good thing for consumers. Quote
Sprony Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 I wish I could return Battlefield 3. Not because I don't like the game, I love it. But I want nothing to with Origin. Battlefield 4 is going to drive me back though. I just want one system, in this case Steam, for my PC gaming. Blizzard is doing it right because you can install it and Battlenet is integrated in the game itself. Sorry for the offtopic rant. Quote
Pampers Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 I dont understand, origin is also integrated into the game itself, but if you want you can just close it after you start the game as well. Quote
