I'm not involved in this dish but my family lives on a small island and we have a friend there with 3 smokers. He gave me some bacon that he made himself in the smokers.

My partner then made ramen noddles using the bacon and some noodles & seaweed she got from Japan. It was phenomenal.

Haven't posted in this in ages!

With the recent heat in UK I experimented with smoothies. My very first one was apple, mango, lime and basil. Can't fit the pic but was an awesome green.

Our go to solution was a mix of mango, pineapple and berries; juice of one lemon or grapefruit or orange, ice. In the evening we also mixed cherry vodka from Poland.

This mix was at breakfast tho, so no alcohol ? was apple, lime, berries, basil; I also discovered you can use yogurt to make scrambled eggs instead of milk, and they got very fluffy!

This other one is just poached eggs and instead of bacon Parma ham sprinkled with parmesan

I've also been making my own Yorkshire puddings, used this leftover with cheese stuffed chicken breasts

This were savory crepes with parma ham and asparagus, with some cheese sauce I wipped up

I didn't predict that the colored gelatin would be sticky. I thought that the white cream would make the flavoured gelatin float but it didn't.

The original recipe asks for condensed milk. I replaced it with coconut milk, grated coconut and Xylitol. The grated coconut ended up being a bad idea because the cream ended up too thick and hard to pour and mix.

It tastes great though.

Is that this ambrosia salad thing I've heard so much about?

I don't know if anybody ever noticed it. When you cook yourself rather than buying or ordering it, there is some pleasure involved in cooking. And also something related to planning ahead of time, taking care of yourself and having better control of your own time.

I don't have a name and didn't follow any recipe in particular. It's rice + vegetables

  • Carrot
  • Belly pepper
  • Peas
  • Cherry tomato (not really, in here there is a similar tomato called Sweet tomato. It's less rounder and more oval)
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Himalayan Salt
  • Dried grapes
  • Black pepper
  • Parsley
  • Basil
  • Olive oil

Mashed potatoes with spinach and onion. Salt and black pepper. Some butter too.

I bought spinach last week and almost forgot it rotting in the fridge.

I only use frozen spinach because the fresh baby has such a short shelf life @0kelvin

Totally agree on the mindfulness of cooking, always enjoyed it. Doesn’t work for everyone, my partner prefers if I cook for sure, she started doing more to have a break from the child lol

the rice you’ve done we’d call it “rice salad”, although would normally add würstel or tinned tuna too
