Since you can join random games, just get to it. All materials gathered are shared with everyone, i.e. you pick up Leather, then everyone gets a piece.

 

Also you can equip two of the same mods. Minigun receiver + double speed loader = DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA.
